Well, I can't believe it's been 2003 since I posted here. I finally
appropriated the "Final Cut," and have been watching it pretty much
nonstop. I am still smarting over how much we still apparently haven't
seen. I still wish the stuff with Hodge and Mary had been filmed,
especially after watching the "making of." There is just so much in
the BR world, and so much left to see. As the viewing audience of the
Deckard story, I feel like we got such a thin slice of it.

I also want to personally apologize to Netrunner for never getting my
old site back up and running like I said I would. It's been such a
long time now, But after the old site crash, I just lost so much
material that the idea of re-writing all of it literally scared me. I
don't know if it's something I should attempt now. But I thought I'd
at least come and say hello, and that I miss everyone.

Hello again. No worries about the site - many of us could do with more

Any new/changed thoughts from viewing the Final Cut?

Hi Elfblade, it's been ages! Indeed, as Gnomus wrote, a lot of us are
camping out on Facebook these days. It's true that in the fast few years
there hasn't been much happening on this ng. Once the Final Cut set was out
things seemed to be slowing down considerably.

But it's great to hear from you again, and by all measn, if you happen to be
on FB, you can find me, Netrunner, and several of the others on there.

Have a better one!

For some reason, the Wayback Machine didn't seem to archive any of it.
Nor did it get any of my other fansites on the old Homestead account.
I did have a few backups, but not for the pages containing entries on
Roy or Pris or Deckard. There were just so many things that I would
have had to re-write or re-code from the ground up. I've taught myself
CSS since then. Maybe it's finally time to start over. Some of my old
backup files that didn't work in windows actually did open on a
machine I'd installed FreeBSD on. Maybe I should just load up another
Unix box and see if anything else is recoverable. :)

Watching the final cut was so powerfully moving, because there are
just so many things that I grasp differently almost ten years after my
initial viewing of Blade Runner in 2001. This movie effects me in ways
that few others do, and I'm actually very glad that I never saw the
original theatrical release with the voiceover. The first version I
ever saw was the director's cut.

I'm actually still processing it. I'll probably be able to post more
impressions in a few day's time.

It's so great to speak to you guys again. :)
