Where did everyone go again?

Hey guys,

I am just now fully recovered from my horrible surgery a little over a
year ago.

At some point, you all moved somewhere else to post. Facebook?
Please point me in the right direction so I can be an active poster
again.

Also, does RoyBoy still keep the Roll Call photos updated? I have a
new photo for my listing.

(waves frantically, jumping up and down)

As you guessed, yes, most of us are camping out on FB these days,
where we keep finding new ways to annoy each other and spook people
in the head!

Yes, RoyBoy should still be around.

Good to have you back, we need you.. This is a bad one, the worst one
yet (Sorry, couldnt help it)

This place is still active I think (and hope) but as Lukas said, most
of us have accounts on FB but I guess we all check in and post things
as they happen.

As of RoyBoy I think that he still keeps the Roll Call up to date

I signed up at FaceBook, but here's how I feel about this ng vs. FB:

This ng - serious BR discussion, with respect among the group denizens
to actually voice honest opinions that are heard and respected, plus a
whole lot of fun and in-jokes.

FB - a fun place to play where some of us gather in "real life" who
happen to like BladeRunner. Not a serious venue.

I think my old Roll Call photo is appropriate for the ng/brmovie.com,
and my new photograph (taken for our church directory) is appropriate
for FB.

Hi all;

after _finally_ being back with a way of posting to usenet (so far, all
my recent providers failed fatally at offering meaningful NNTP access,
and I don't really like online readers for this purpose), I wonder
whether a.f.blade-runner still is sort of active. Haven't been here in
_ages_...

Indeed, I saw few of his messages earlier today out here...
interesting. Actually, though I'm pretty indifferent talking about most
of Vangelis' doings, one has to say that his soundtrack works (Blade
Runner, obviously, and 1492 come to mind) are incredibly powerful...
wish there was more like that. :)

Neat to see that... :) Browsing the recent posts, I actually just saw a
few "familiar" names, missing others predominant around here earlier
(czf?). So, how much did I miss?

That I got a divorce, I turned 50 (woo hoo!), and "czf" is now "lcz".

And I learned to surf two years ago and that's where I spend most of
my time now rather than surfing the net. I do check in from time to
time to make sure everyone is still playing nice.

Wow, I see. Pretty cutting changes, wherever one looks, starting with

Neat. :) I can imagine that this "other kind of surfing" also is fun,
surely could need some kind of water to dive into these days (pretty
strong summer...). But then again, guess I just need to come back to
bits and bytes sooner or later.

Hmmmm... Thanks to some geekiness that won't let me rest in peace, I'm
back on some newsgroups. Why? How? Because I've re-installed Ubuntu on my
laptop and have fun with some text-only Terminal mail client and other
apps(*).

Having successfully set up a mail client with Alpine, I discovered it also
allows me to browse newsgroups. That was the great occasion to rediscover
my old beloved afbr :)

By the way, since this is my first post sent by that odd old-school
client, I really don't know what identity I'll be posted under. Therefore,
let me re-introduce myself; I am Vincent "Nootilus" Corlaix, might be
known by old-timers here as Captain Nemo. Anyway, it's just me ;)
