Why is this relevant? Well, Oomori did sing the OP for it... ^_^

I always was a sucker for giant robots, so I'll give this series a
look.

If this sells well enough, you think maybe they'll take a look at some
of the Brave shows?

What an odd thing for a company's first release. Wikipedia says it was
popular at the time,
Bokurano deconstructs some of the tropes it's built on.

Then again, I am something of a mecha fan... so I'll probably take a look.
It'll probably
never be available for sale on this side of the pond though.

5th Graders with Robots?

F' Yea!!!!! Sounds like the grade school version of Team America. I
dont know, im sure there is more to the series to look forward to than
just "Oomori doing the OP for it".

I might check it out. I might as well start my own publishing company,
so i can bring Double Zeta, Victory Gundam, Gundam X and Turn A Gundam
to the states (and to the world, i didnt forget about you Dartz).

Well, I had to keep it BGC-related somehow ;) Plus the song is the
very first one I ever translated, so it's a little sentimental for me.

My transliteration from ten years ago (I may need to redo the
translation, it was good for my first one but I could probably tweak
it still; won't post that unless I get asked):

Daiji na koto nante jibun de mitsukeru yo

Yaritai koto bakari takusan arisugite
Tsukue no mae ni nante jitto shite irarenai

Hijoo door o akeru tabi ni

Atarashii sekai e tobidasu thrill
Kimi ni mo oshietai yo

Hitori ja nai sa*
Kujike-soo na toki wa
Tatakau yuuki o sasaete ageru yo
Mirai wa itsumo
Bokura ga hero
Yume miru chikara wa Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh

Ashita no chizu nante jibun de egakeru sa
Kakedasu biru no machi kaze ga odotteiru yo

I see.

I mean, Oomori may not look like a supermodel, but she has the voice
of an angel, shes very underrated. To me, id say shes just as good if
not better than Ayumi Hamazaki or any other jpop artist that everyone
seems to know about. She's like the japanese equivlant to Amy Grant
during that time period, and Amy Grant and that type of music was
something i grew up listening to in my moms car in the early 1990's.
When i was driving around a while ago, i had "Step by Step" playing,
that is an amazing upbeat-early 90's pop tune that makes you feel good.

"Ashita Fall in Love" is a beautiful song too :) The mind boggles as
to why she didn't do better than she did. Maybe it's 'cause she stood
out singing-wise, and in Japanese culture that's a Bad Thing =P The
nail that sticks out gets hammered down, so they say.

Haha, then I gotta be glad I didn't grow up in Japan. I probably would've
caused my teachers some *massive* headaches. >:P

Not that I didn't do that here, mind, but to a lesser degree. ^.^

Well japan has a way of throwing away japanese music artist after a
short while, they build them up to be popular for a short time and
then poof, never heard of again. Theres several artist that i wish
would come back, but really, who knows where they went. Theres only a
certain few artist that stay big like Gackt, TM Revolution, Yoko
Kanno, Hamazaki, and a few others that still stay popular, i guess it
helps if you have fans in the east and west. If SILK wanted to do a
comeback, i think they could, but they need to get noticed on some
anime OP in order to do that would have to make it stateside.

Alas, if Raijin-Oh somehow ends up selling well here, it'll be about
18 years too late to help Oomori's popularity on this side of the
Pacific, as she ended up retiring from singing in 1994...

Well... thats not good. Well, thats not helping my plan - ah, our plan
to bring her back.

Wait, i thought she did some image songs to Gunsmith Cats OVA, which
would have came out after 1995? I guess certain singers can make
comebacks if the price is good, or if something catches their
interest.

You gotta wonder, what is she doing now?

Those songs came out in '93 =o I have the CD.

Last I heard, she was married and had (at least) one kid. So maybe
she's just playing housewife, but who knows, really.

Haha, anybody got her email? We ought to point her towards this NG ;)

That... would be awesome. She might be surprised that she has fans on
this side of the world that still care. Of course we all have like A
BILLION questions to ask her (im wondering if she knows if there is
any sheet music on the BGC OVA, i need to find a guitar tab of Koyna
wa Hurricane. Shoot, ill be happy if she has some sheet music to her
SILK stuff).
