O/T Bette Midler honored for lifetime achievement award at Songwriters Hall of Fame in June

Bette Midler will be honored for a lifetime achievement award at the
Songwriters Hall Of Fame in late June. While I am glad that Bette is
being honored, it seems strange to honor a singer who does not write
her own songs at the songwriters hall of fame. Marvin

I think she's written a number of songs --

Bootlegbetty.com has the complete list -- but there's at least 30
songs that she has writer credits on.

A couple that caught my eye --


Clinging Vine (written by) Bette Midler, Melissa Manchester,
Carole Bayer Sager
Something Your Heart Has Been Telling Me Written by -- Robert Kraft,

The Late Show (a wonderful performance!) written by Bette

So -- I think she deserves to be in the Songwriters Hall of Fame...

Marvin: Thank you Sharon for sharing the information and I had no idea
Bette wrote songs at all. Given how long Bette and Barry have known
each other- let alone working together- I am surprised Barry and Bette
never collaborated as songwriters.
