Yes it does Diane, and whoever came up with the idea of putting this
advertisement on youtube is a genius. Thanks for sharing the link.

The over enunciation is there, but there seems to be more emotion and
it sounds less polished than the decades album.
I agree, Luiz. I'll be glad to hear the longer snippets when they're posted
on Amazon to see if I'll buy it.
Nice to see that J Records/Arista finally managed to get Barry on Youtube.
Welcome to the 21st Century. :-)
Wonder if Garry will zap this one. ;^)

Ah, having heard the 'teaser', I will definitely buy it to hear the
rest! Thanks for the link. The Look Of Love just about gave me goose
bumps. (the good kind. :-) )
Very optimistic on this one!
I'm very surprised to see and hear a snippet of "Love me Tender"
because it's not on the original song list !

I agree. I don't want to get my hopes up that I actually might like it. the
over enunciation is certainly there but the snippets remind me of the 50's
cd which for me was the best of the decades cds.
Where the hell is "I've Got A Crush On You"???? That's the song I was
most looking forward to hearing. That's gone and "Love Me Tender" is
there instead?? Oh, the disappointment... :(
Amy
Mr. Lloyd tweeted about "Love Me Tender" back on Sept. 2. Said Barry did a
"magnificent version." He also tweeted about "It Had To Be You," which is
also not on the track list. Probably another bonus cut to appear on various
verisons.
BTW, he also tweeted back in July that Barry had already recorded some of the
Manilow/Enoch Anderson songs for "Fifteen Minutes."

it's free promotion that everyone else has been doing for years so i would
hardly call it original let alone genius. smart yes.
Could very well be Scooter, why didn't I think about that ! lol

Set, game, match, Reb. ;^)

Don't lose hope Amy, it says "featuring" and there only 13 songs
listed, the original (on Starz) is still listing 16 songs...so who
knows, maybe we get lucky ! lol
Jeannine
Remember, there's a QVC rumor. And you know that means "bonus cuts." :-)

Scooter
True. The starz.bz version doesn't list the Elvis cover, so I'll hold
out hope that the QVC version (is this even a definite?) will have
some extras. I'm not ordering anything until we know how may versions
will be released.

No official word from the "officials." But Mr. Lloyd tweeted about a QVC
thing Nov. 29, asking Garry Kief:
..................
@garykief tell me where to go when I come up for the QVC thing...best,
michael
..................
But he misspelled Garry's tweet address.
So, it's just a rumor at this point.

This just in....official hotline, notice that they say
"selections" ..... so I'm hopeful ! ;-)

So far I really like "Our Love is Here To Stay", "I Only Have Eyes for
You" and "The Twelfth of Never". I'd like to see what the final track
listing will be (with or without bonus songs), but if the rest are as
nicely done as these are, it's going to be a very good album.

Remember - Barry is not Stiletto's only client. SNC had a QVC
appearance around that date - could be that's what he was talking
about.

Like I pointed out, it was only a rumor.

The clips me very much of Linda Ronstadt's albums, "What's New" (1983) and
"Lush Life" (1984).

Scooter
Sheesh. Left out a whole word. Shoulda said, 'the clips "remind" me very
much...'
I still want to hear longer clips, but right now I doubt I'll buy this one.
I'm just no longer interested in buying a Manilow album just because it's a
Manilow album. I'll wait for "Fifteen Minutes," with hopefully something new
and different. GLSOAT seems to be more of the same: Barry singing covers
yet again. I'm sure it'll do okay in sales, especially being released just
in time for Valentine's Day and his opening at The Paris. And since he's
done fabulously on QVC, I imagine he'll revisit them again even if Mr.
Lloyd's tweet was about some other Stiletto client. I don't watch QVC, but
perhaps someone who does can let us know which client was on.
Meanwhile, I'll listen to the CD I made from all the bonus tracks released in
2006, plus a few other gems. An interesting and innovative mix instead of
"Manilow Covers [fill in the blank]."

Hit it on the head there Scooter. I can never understand why he;s
still doing cover albums?
It can't all be Clive's fault....
