The Weekly World News has photos proving that Matt Drudge doesn't really exist.
We'll call it a draw, OK?

Is Matt still gay?
Jim
Actually, they had a headline that said, "MATT DRUDGE UP TO 1130 LBS!", then
they showed a picture of a really, really fat guy who never leaves his
apartment.
Ya, -or at least I never had a problem with him until this.
He sent me an e-mail explaining his motive for running the piece,
(which I accept) -apparently he and Cam were collaborating on it.
HA! That hat is my only piece of concrete evidence! Although
I did notice that Matt has the same twirling purple banana banners
that JP has on his site. (Not that there's anything *wrong* with that).

All of them Ed? They took more the next day.
If you were able to rationalize the above in your own tiny little pea-brain,

Don't you find it strange that the media haven't been allowed access to
Elian and his father?
Or that Cuban secret service goons are allowed onto Andrews AF base, while
Congressman Bob Smith isn't, nor Elian's legal guardians, nor Elians
lawyers?
Y'know, if this were happening under LBJ, Nixon or Reagan, leftists and
the media would be screaming their heads off.
We don't even have any video of Elian and his dad....you don't see
something totally bizzare about this whole thing?
I'll bet we will never see Elian again, like we did in Miami, until he is
in Cuba and thoroughly brainwashed, surrounded by secret police. Klinton
and Reno are disgraces and should resign, but of course they won't.

no, no, no...using obscentities, name calling, insulting your hertiage,
lineage, intelligence, and the occasional spelling flame IS what the
usenet is all about. it enhances one's credibility to come up with new and
wonderful ways to use fuck, shit, cunt etc. they're verbs! they're
adverbs! they're adjectives! they're nouns! they're exclamations! have
some fun....use your imagination...why the ole cap went up way, way up in

There is nothing funny about poor spelling, it's Hamsterwheel
for Christ's sake. There is no "p" in the word hamster. Insult

please spell correctly. Punctuation, of couse, is not that critical.

Yeah. This from someone who thinks the photos were doctored and Castro

make his life hell.

> When was the last time they had free elections in Cuba?
duh, they have a dictatorship...mexico has free elections tho'. look where
it gets them. so does brazil.
the haitians have free elections....papa doc duvalier was president, then
his son, baby doc. president aristide had to flee the country nine months
after his election...what is your point?
what difference does free elections make in determining where elian lives?
we have free elections, and there are problems here and places here where
i wouldn't want elian to live. with that hysterical second cousin
whatshername, for example. like she has his best interest at heart and has
no agenda. yeaaah riiiight.
because cuba has a dictator it naturally follows that elian shouldn't go
home and live with his father?
>
> Do they have freedom of the press in Cuba?
don't think so. remember, they have a dictatorship. mexico has freedom of
the press. so does brazil. and the publisher of one of mexico's foremost
newspapers has to ride to work in a bullet proof vest, armored car with
armed escorts. the editor of one of the brazilian newspapers was shot to
death by a sharpshooter while eating his breakfast in a bullet proof vest.
should one of OUR requirements be that elian live where there is freedom
of the press? should WE be making the determination where elian lives at
all? should YOUR political bent be factored into where elian grows up?
>
> Has Amnesty International said that there are political prisoners kept
> in Cuba?
yeah, so does about fifty other countries. i would gather that most of
south amercia has political prisoners. england has political prisoners.
in the sixties and seventies, lots of young men fled the united states for
canada to avoid being drafted in a war they didn't agree with. had they
walked over the border, they would have been arrested and held as
political prisioners.
so what? elian's mom wasn't a politcal prisioner. what does that have to
do with the custody issue?
>
> Has Castro and or his cronies murdered political opponents?
i suppose. listen to any limbot long enough and they'll claim clinton has
ahd a hand in murdering everyone since 1960 except patsy cline. have you
bothered to read any recent african history? or mexican history? or south
american history? haitian history? korean, vietnamese or cambodian
history? where were you during the khmer rouge? do you protest the
treatment of children in china? are you these vehement in your indignation
at the lack of humanity towards babies in haiti??
lots of examples of ugliness around the world...it don't make it right,
but it hardly makes castro unique.
>
> Would three to five million Cubans flee Cuba if they could?
don't know. neither do you. but i lived in so cal for forty years and
mexicans were flooding the state at a rate you wouldn't believe. haitians
are dying to get into the united states, literally.
so some cubans want to come here, lots of people want to come here....what
does this have to do with a custody issue?
>
> Do people, such as Elian's late mother, risk their lives daily by
> trying to escape on anything that floats?
is this rhetorical? yes they risk their lives, hamsterass. and as a mom, i
find it deplorable that she risked her son's life by trying to float to
miami. i understand perhaps wanted better things for your children, but
at what cost? and she kidnapped elian, lets not make her out to be some
kind of martyr.
> Was Elian's father granted custody over his mother by Cuban
> authorities because his father was a government supporter, whereas his
> mother was not? (Check yesterday's Miami Herald.)
i have no idea. niether do you. and the miami herald has a huge ax to
grind, and a huge population of readers it caters to. both chris matthews,
andrea mitchell, (hell even ollie north) and others over at cnn dismiss
what is purported in the herald since they have clearly abadoned objective
reporting and wear their bias on their sleeves. can they do this? sure.
should they do it? dunno. but it makes what they print suspect.
>
> And my final question is, "are you an apologist for Castro or what?"
nope. but i don't think it is as horrible as you think. every country in
the world allows travels to cuba ('cept us)...their number one revenue
generating industry is tourism. canadians, the british, the scandanavians
etc all laugh their collectives asses off at us americans for our
embargoes, our portrayal of the country, the fact that no one is allowed
to travel there. as i have stated here before, my best friend is from
toronto, and has traveled to cuba about 7 times. it is inexpensive, clean,
safe, beautiful, and is the number one travel destination for canadians.
they have tour packages for cuba like we have for disneyworld.
cuba has 100% literacy, everyone works, no one is homeless and they
everyone has complete medical care from cradle to grave. they also have
virtually no public works, so buildings, roads and historical monuments
are falling apart. are there problems? you bet. are there problem here?
you bet. do they violate people's human and civil rights? yup. are they
people in the u.s. who have their rights violated? yup. daily.
so the fuck what? a little boy needs to be with his daddy...not some
distant relative so that YOU feel better about getting back at the big bad
communists. sheesh.
you don't like cuba's form of government. big deal. get over it. would
you be this concerned if the kid was somalian? or haitain? or mexican?
korean? cambodian? chinese?
i got news for you, buddy, our government ships back mexican kids daily
that get caught entering this country illegally...and i don't see you
screaming about this...and the little mexican kids aren't exactly going
back to shangra lai. mexico has crushing poverty, no educational system,
widespread illiteracy, and child labor is the norm. wow, where is your
outrage at that?
zip up, hamsterboy, your hypocrisy is showing.

That too was too stupid to be worthy of response. If someone posits that
crayolas are nutritious and fun to eat, & they're SERIOUS, it will not
incite a serious debate on the relative merits & recipes for various
colors of crayolas. It will incite jest. You are that kind of commentator.
You incite jest.

We already detected that you get all your "knowledge" from Fox, but I
doubt you've read more than the funny page in a newspaper in the last ten
years. So why do you want to bad-mouth the Miami Herald by positing in a
couple of your posts that they have a broad editorial stance as ignorant
as your own?
The Miami Herald is often anti-Castro pandering to their community base,
but even the Herald isn't as shallowly foolish as you, since you are only
spewing a few dumbass soundbites you got off television -- & off Fox at
that, which makes no bones about it, Fox is not there to give you the
news, it's there to give you the jollies. The Herald even biased makes
stabs at journalistic fairness. Your comments wouldn't be worthy of their
letters-to-the-editor page on a slow Tuesday. Miami Herald was not
unwilling to report, for instance, that throughout Latin America -- not
just commy pinko Fidel-blowing countries but the majority throughout Latin
America -- news coverage has been wholly against the weirdo relatives & in
favor of the dad, & no one with an ounce of intelligence suggests Castro
is going to do anything but make hay out of it at worst. There is no
belief in his brainwashing a child as you posit, that is a belief only of
emotionally unstable Cuban American immigrants with a bone to pick against
Castro, & they don't care about Elian as anything but a pawn either.
In "World Ends Tonight! Now, Back to the Elian Story" famed Miami Herald
columnist Dave Berry gave the issue all the respect it deserved:
http://www.herald.com/content/archive/living/barry/1999/docs/bspec30.htm
At NewsWatch, at the Miami Herald on-line archives, & at miami.about.com
the Miami Herald articles are either synopsized or archived & searchable
with site search engines. There are no Herald journalistic pieces on Elian
getting brainwashed when he goes back to Cuba. So your main "substantive"
claim in all the B-S you've blathered was just you pretending to have an
informed opinion when you have only your own stupidity to rely on.
Yes you just fucking LIED when claiming you got your ignorant-geek
information from the Herald. A search of "brainwashing Elian" in their
archives finds no one but a Cuban street-loony & a psychotic relative
saying anything even close to that, but no journalistic or investigative
piece nor even a wild-eyed & crazy op/ed piece lends credence to it. The
fact that you cannot tell the difference between journalism & a Fox
newsbite like "Fidel will Brainwash Elian & Feed Him To the Pigs!" is the
real reason you're being made fun of in here, not because of who disagrees
or agrees Cuba sucks raw potatoes. You're so dumb even the anti-Castro
brigade would want to kick your ass.

Heh. Sorry about that, but you know the testing has to be vigorous to
withstand the dreck that floats through this sewer.

NOTHING will convince Ed of something he doesn't already believe.

pretty much every one here is contrary. we tolerate nothing and everything.

funny how you characterize those who would agree with you as "reasonable".
and those who disagree "unreasonable". very tolerant, there, aren't cha?.
For the life

i thought you said you lurked here a long time. for someone who claims
they have lurked around afab, you sure seem a tad ignorant of how things
work.

i tried? i guess i failed...and i really don't remember insulting you. i
didn't yell fuck off or anything. i mean, i called you hamsterboy, but
hey, i warned you it was gonna stick.

really? castro came out and said "i'm gonna wash that boy right outta his
head?" or words to that effect? where was it reported that castro said
that? the miami herald? bah. how about the washington post? cnn?
nightline? new york times? newsweek? time?

first, you know absolutely nothing about cuba...have you ever been there?
do you have relatives there? were you from there? you made some sweeping,
cliche statements about a country.
second, i made reference to the other latin american countries to
illustrate that cuba is not alone in its faults...your last post made it
seem as though cuba was the only country that held political prisioners
etc.therefore, elian should be kept from having to go to that terrible
place at all costs. it was a dumb argument. you seem only concerned with
one little boy from cuba, when there are thousands of little children in
all different countries suffering from conditions and fates far worse than
kids in cuba. he is a political pawn, for both sides.
children from haiti fall off boats and the survivors are shipped
immediately back to haiti every fucking day...they want a better life,
too. haiti makes the black hole of calcutta look like maui. there is
rampant aids, almost no health care, widespread starvation, poverty and
crime. forget about schools and reading....kids there would like something
to eat and some shoes.
there are factions in this country, particularly in cally that would like
the border patrol on the mexico border to shoot on sight, and put land
mines down to discourage foot travelers coming across to san diego in an
attempt to get those high demand jobs like washing dishes and mowing
lawns. funny, but those seem to be the very people now that are screaming
about elian staying here in america.
god forbid he should be return to a government we don't agree with. we
send back haitian kids to a country where the government makes cuba look
like heyday of rome, or toss mexican kids back to the grinding poverty,
lack of education and child labor. you want to champion the rights of one
boy because he is cuban and you hate castro. that is why i brought up
mexico and haiti...and i'll wager you still don't get it. whatever.

bwhahahahahahaha, courts that are politically biased? gee what a concept.
of course, we don't have that here. nooooooo.....bwahahahahahahahah.
wow, the miami herald reported that the custody hearings were unfair in
cuba as told to by the cuban/american relatives of elian. gee, i'm sure
they were objective about all of that.
quoting the miami herald? gee,i thought we went down the road of their
journalistic integrity..and the fox news?
The mother IMO did not "kidnap" the boy. She was the
> boy's mother. I just don't understand the use of the word "kidnap"
> when a biological parent takes their own child with them in search of
> a better life and freedom.
you sir, are a moron. whatever willingness i had to listen to your
position just ended. obviously you don't have kids.
geez, you are like bRay and the libel thing. you really should bother to
learn a little about what it is you are talking about. yes, she was the
boy's mom. she did not have custody. whatever you think the of legal
process in cuba is immaterial. no one gives a hamster's ass what you think
of the court system in cuba. they made a ruling, and she didn't like it.
so she took him from the custodial parent. so you think it is okay for a
parent in say, this country, to take a child away from another parent? if
i am divorced from my husband, and i have custody of our daughter, you
think it is okay for him to take her away from me, to take her to a place
where i will never see her, just because he thinks she might have a better
life in the new place? christ. you are one fucked up little dude. or is
it only cuba legal decisions that you will disregard?
she kidnapped elian...you can play semantics all you want...but that is
what she did. and last i checked that was illegal, along with being
morally reprehensible.
sorry bub, that's just plain wrong. no one parent gets to make that
judgement against the other parent....no one has the right to take one's
child away from a parent.
i am sorry, but that is one of the most stupid things i have ever read. is
this some sort of contest? winners and losers? please don't tell me that
you really see things this black and white.
are you really that intimidated, that insecure, that afraid?
this is about one little boy going to be with his daddy. who happens to
live in cuba. which for some unknown reason, drives you right up the wall
of your hamster cage.
this isn't about your manhood. this isn't about triumph. gee, is
everything at stake, all the time?
there are no winners. there are no losers.

you aren't right. and you call those who post in here intolerant. you
should look in bRay's mirror sometime...the only one i see that is
intolerant is you.

yeah sure...that's why you were wondering why this newsgroup had little
to do with art bell, and was surprised as being flamed.
you are either incrediably stoopid or one talented troll.

you should be so lucky as to have any woman sexually interested in
you...and have you been remote viewing people while they shower, again?
if you need to look at someone's ass, go in the bathroom, pull down your
diaper and stare at your own.
what you think of my posting is immaterial...i hardly care. yours however
is inane, unfunny and worthless crap. you have the distinction of being
one of the bottom feeders in the sea of the usenet. (wanted to stay in the
pathetic spirit of your shark/ocean theme). you aren't even a
troll...just an annoying regular that has nothing to say, nothing to
offer.
as for going away...i was here looong before you arrived and may be here
long after the parkinson's takes over and you can't (thank god) post your
pathetic attempts at flames/humor/sage observations.
killfile me if you must, but do us all a favor and shut the fuck up.

Well, not free. But unlimited access and I couldn't get it with anyone else
