Hmmm... 'long the same lines I found a really cool purple plaid at
JoAnn's. PURPLE!! How many yards are needed for a great kilt?
Specially if one is, um... broad shouldered? ;-)

The odd thing to me is wasn't "pink plaid"a group from the fifties or
sixties ? I think they came from Philly . Shelagh who unfortunately
remembers those days.

Which is exactly why the Clan McGroin chose pink plaid for its debut
at Scarby this year. Of course the crowning touch was the Mickey Mouse
hands which we used for sporrans.

I found the singular most obnoxious plaid *ever* at Michael Levine's on year.
We wrapped a clansmen in it and presented him to Queen Elizabeth at Santa
Barbara (1997 I think...) for her birthday.... complete with a handful of blue
ribbons. She actually broke character ::grins::

Picture if you will a dark-haired, blue-eyed Scotsman - wrapped in a
sateen-type plaid fabric made up of all the awful neon colors of the 80's. It
was *blinding*. To this day it is known as the Skittles kilt... and that
clansman's motto is now "taste the rainbow".

I think I can report with assurity that the paint I saw being applied
was white, with brown trim. This booth is *very* nice and yellow just
wouldn't have suited it!

I wanted to paint it yellow.......I really did, but the threats of
beatings...lynchings....and other bodily harm helped me change my mind.

The color is actually a white with just a hint of blue and the trim is a
brown that reminded me of chocolate pudding instead of that real dark nasty
brown...but you should see the colors of the other booths in my area.....I
look quite restrained compared to them.
