I managed to get bronchitis, so I couldn't go early this year... next
window of opportunity for me: Labor Day Weekend (Italian Carnival).

So, from those of you who managed to get there:

How was the opening?

How did things go without a King?

Any new attractions this year (stage shows, acrobats, etc)?

How did merchanting seem to do?

Tell me all!

Oh, and if you have a brochure you could scan and email me, I'd
appreciate it.

Thanks, and hope you had a great weekend.

first day was wonderful--the weather cooperated fully, and the day did not
get warmish until the end of the day. we left before the end (legacy of
some recent injuries--could not hold up until drum jam...). some of the old
familiar vendors were missing, but new ones had stepped in to fill most of
the empty places. the performers were great, and the queen seems to be
doing well on her own, so to speak. after all, the king is fishing in
scotland, isn't he? or is he off on the business of the kingdom...i
forget...

chas had a wonderful coffee table in the hall of masters, on display--taken
from the book of kells, if i remember rightly. looked like analine stain on
wood--could have been some transparentish medium, but whichever, it looked
beautiful, and let the grain show through.

the turkey legs were too big to finish, the mead ran sweet, the corn was
tender. the tortuga twins were up to their usual, johnny phoenix was
funny, and puke and snot were doing their thing. all in all, it was pretty
close to as perfect a day as one could order. i hope the weather will do a
return performance for you when you get here!!!

Actually, I meant the one they hand out on site, not the one that they
send out as promos for visitors. The one with the map showing vendor
and stage locations...

Thanks.

Sales were poor for us, (although I did sell 5 "Hogwarts approved" magic
wands on Saturday!) And things were slow for most of the other crafters
I spoke to. (I'm the 'craft liason' person for the booths in our
"neighborhood") but then this weekend we were competing with the local
Irish Fair, 2, or 3 county fairs, and the end of the Fringe festival.
