How do Americans pronounce 'pouffe'?

SFAIK it's pronounced 'POOF' in England, but folk don't like to say it that
way! :-D

It rhymes with "the cover at the top of a building" and with "the
upper part of a cavity".

'Roof' almost rhymes with 'Poof' - to Flossie at Merriam-Webster!

Um, in generic Americanese there ain't no such word. It might appear
regionally, perhaps in the Atlantic states or those bordering French
Canada, but certainly not in the states west of the Mississippi river.
