PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- A man and woman reported to the Charlotte County
Sheriff's Office that they were held at gunpoint early Friday morning at
the Port Charlotte Beach Complex by two men who took their cellphones.
The victims said they were walking from the parking lot to the fishing
pier at about 1 am when they were approached by two men who both pointed
handguns at them. They were ordered to lay on the ground and given the
men their belongings. Each victim handed over their cell phones to the
men. The victims continued to lay on the ground after the men left until
they saw someone they knew in the area.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the
descriptions given of the suspects.
Both suspects were armed with handguns and were described as being
either Black or Hispanic. Both suspects had red bandanas over their
mouths, partially covering their noses.
One suspect was described as being about 5 ft. 8 inches tall and about
140 pounds with lighter complexioned skin and reddish curly
shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans or
longer shorts.
The second suspect was described as being about 5 ft. 8 inches tall and
weighing about 220 to 250 pounds. He had short, buzzed-cut black hair
and was wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans or longer shorts.
They were possibly driving a red 4-door vehicle.
