Hello Folks:

Help! I have AmigaForever 3.5 from Clanto, Inc. I ordered AF 3.0 and
AmigaOS 3.5 from Software Hut, Inc. I got a package yesterday. I
successfully installed AmigaForever 3.0 but...

I attempted to install AmigaOS 3.5 but system crashed during main
installation section after license agreement. I rebooted AmigaForever but
it happened the same. I performed the pre-installation successfully and
rebooted it. I attempted to run the main installation but system crashed.
:-(

Does anyone successfully install AmigaOS 3.5 with UAE v0.8.x? :-(

Thank you!

I take it you're not running a single license piece of software on two
machines??? hmmm??

Are you running the 020 version (that is available IIRC)? I have no idea
how much of it would run on a 68000, but if you haven't tried that yet
(and if I'm actually correct in that an 020 version of the emulator
should exist), that might well be it.

Cheers,

i am running the 020 version. and isn't copying the roms illegal anyway?!
They do say you have to own a machine with the roms to be able to legally
copy them, and many software licences are 'per user' as i'm only using it on
either the amiga or uae at any one time there is no problem. Don't moan at
me, there's thousands of uae users who don't even have originals of amigas,
roms, workbench or games, and they blatantly copy them from everywhere.
anyway I am using the latest uae from the codepoet website, and it runs well
on a pii 450, with ati rage fury 128 (32mb), 128mb ram machine, but i
haven't tried it on anything less so i don't know how it performs on other
machines. I basically installed it on my a1200 and then copied the drive
over as a backup and just use that until i get my 850mb drive for the amiga
then i can copy it back, so as for fresh installs i don't know if they work
or not..

Technically, I think it would be legal to copy them and even use them,
as long as you don't use the machine they were copied from. But frankly,
I think it's a bit tight-assed to require people to buy multiple copies
of some software product when they want to run it on more then one
machine (as long as things don't run out of hand, of course, if you were
using the same copy for several people that were using the software
intensively (i.e. hours or even whole days on end, at the same time), it
would be different).

It's ok, I do the same.

So 3.5 works fine? So the problem are only for the installer...
interesting...

Hey, what's the point of AmigaForever? Can I play games on it? I don't
understand other than it's some sort of emulator. Tanks!

Only if you have a pretty powerful PC.

It's a commercial distribution of the UAE Amiga Emulator.

Oh, thank you very much! :) I went ahead and bought it. I've had a blast
with it. I have like 40 freakin' megs of Amiga games now that I play with
it. Heh, all withint a 12 hour period of buying it. :) If only I could
find Frontier or maybe an Amiga version of LCP & Murder on the
Mississippi I'd be a happy camper. I think I still have Frontier on disk
somewhere. I could try to make it an ADF file. Anyway, tanks again! ;)

Technically you can run a single license piece of software on two seperate

Stranded in the middle of a field, Shrink908 <Shri...@hypercon.com> lit a fire and sent
out the following smoke signals. It somehow ended up in comp.sys.amiga.misc:

> Technically you can run a single license piece of software on two seperate

I posted this before, but I don't think it worked. So I'll try again.
From the OS3.5 licence agreement:

"This License does not allow the Amiga Software to exist on more than
one computer at a time".

Works for me. Did anyone mentioned or did they assume you are using 3.1
kickstart? If not, ya need it. Of course OS3.1 with KS3.1 both are required
before OS3.5.

But then you did READ the comic book, right? Sure you did, we all do!

Cheers

From a technical POV, yes, it is required. However, don't bother getting
a copy, since it does come with the OS 3.5 package.

Anyone doing OS3.5 under WinUAE on a Linux box?

Or WB3.1 for that matter... Jerry Smith
