2005 has certainly been a great year for Elvis. Just here In the UK, the
King has
had 3 new Number One singles, 14 top five hit singles, a top ten album, a
top
twenty album and a number one music DVD.

And it looks like there will be no letting up on the re-birth of Elvis'
chart career as
there are reports of new remixes on the way.

Joe Dimuro is reported to have spoken out at the Elvis Insiders meeting at
Graceland this week and mentioned that it is a real possibility that some
new Elvis
remixes could be produced to attract even more of the younger generation.

Dimuro, who heads up strategic marketing at Sony/BMG said "we want to take
Elvis back to the mainstream and that means changing the style of a song and
recreating it".

With over 900 songs recorded by Elvis and countless outtakes, there are
years
worth of remix possibilities for the company to work with.

"We want to do a dance track for the clubs and a contemporary recording for
top
40 airplay" Dimuro said.

I'm in two minds about the remixes.

To mess with 'classics' seems wrong.

But ALLC certainly worked - Rubberneckin less so.

But if it gets our lad some airplay & introduces
him to a new generation - well, why not ?

They might just discover they like the originals too !

But I just saw the 'Rubberneckin' video in a bar the other night and it
was really good.
On the other hand, the clueless bitches at BMG can't leave well enough
alone and let it go.
It's forced, it's already old and at one point it'll be embarrassing.
