Check out "http://www.worldwideelvis.com/" and click on Timelife series.
This was only available through mail-order for some time in the U.S.. I
believe the series has ended in the meantime.

Wolfgang,

I recently subscribed to this series so, apparently, it is still
available. To date, I've received only the first CD ("Country") and
although I have most of the cuts, Time-Life purported includes a
previously unreleased track on each CD; "Country" has a version of
Snowbird that I've not heard elsewhere.

"Country" is a 2 CD set with fairly good fidelity. I'll try to
remember to update my stated opinions as I receive others in the
series.

That was a special offer from Time Life series of not only Elvis but also other
artists...Elvis was one of the series and it had only one unreleased song that
was from the movie Camelot?? The song was "If I Loved You" and that was a home
recording never been release from RCA/BMG. I dont know if Time Life still have
them in stock but I imagine they still do.

I have seen a very nice TV ad for the Time/Life "Country" Elvis cd set
on TV. All 14 of the 2 cd sets were excellent and all have nice booklets
with them and picture disc cds and each follows a theme. I think the
selections available are a little less now. It is a great way to get
many of Elvis' songs on a concentrated cd series. Rick

If you are talking about the "Elvis Collection" series, this is actually a
series of about 10 cd sets, each set has 2 cd's and one unreleased song on each
set.The beauty of these sets are that many of these original songs were remixed
and sound better than anything before and still hold their own. Many people
didn't know that. You can still order them from Time Life. You can order them
here in the US at 1-800-488-4669.

Don't order them from this site, you will pay a very high price when you can
order them direct (still) and save about $25.00 on EACH set, as they cost
approximately 20.00 a set thru Time Life. Try this site
http://www.timelifecs.com and or the number I previously posted.

No, I never knew that. Do you have any examples of remixed songs that sound better
on the Timelife series?

P.S.: There were actually 14 sets I believe.
