Is physics genius George Gollin unable to sort out his own family
history, or does he even lie about that too?
Here is what Gollin says on his website:
Sidney went to Boys High School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1939. He
began college, then enlisted in the Army Signal Corps when World War II
began. He served in safety in Omar Bradleys headquarters, far from the
clutches of his destructive mother. He stayed in the service for about
a year after the war ended, spending time in Warsaw, where he learned
to speak Polish. After the war he went back to Brooklyn College,
starting as a physics major, switching to chemistry, and then flunking
out at the end of his senior year. He never returned to school. He
married my mother, Dolores Joseph, around 1950, and worked as a
childrens photographer, and then as the owner of a route of vending
machines, selling gum, baseball cards, and so forth. He was a terrific
portrait photographer, but never managed to earn enough money at
anything he did to pay his share of the household expenses. Dolores and
Sid lived on 72nd Rd in Queens, where I was born in 1953. My sister
Olivia was born in 1957. In 1960 we moved to Freeport, a suburb of New
York on the south shore of Long Island. Around 1964, Dolores began
teaching English fulltime at Freeport High School, slogging through
years of evening classes at Queens College to get a masters degree and
certification as a school administrator. Eventually, she became an
assistant principal in the Herricks school system. Dolores and Sidney
divorced in 1975; Dolores now lives in Jamesburg, New Jersey. Sidney
died of a heart attack in June, 1986.

But here is what the Las Vegas Review Journal published on April 7,
1999 about the death of Olivias mother, Carol (remember, George says
his mothers name is Dolores and his fathers name is Sidney):
Carol Gollin
Carol Gollin, 62, died Sunday.
She was born June 7, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A crossing guard and
a retired file clerk, she was a three-year resident of Las Vegas, a
council volunteer for Boy Scouts of America and a member of Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 5199 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Maler of Las Vegas and
Olivia Gollin-Hoepfl of Beaver Creek, Ohio; sons, Louis Mars of Kent,
Wash., Kenneth Mars of Las Vegas and Winfield Mars of Freeport, N.Y.;
brothers, Edwin Sutch of Levittown, N.Y., and Kenneth Sutch of
Harrisburg, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise
Valley Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.

George also states this on his website:
Sidney later married Carol Such
Why does physics genius George Gollin spell the last name, Such,
differently that the brothers of the late Carol Gollin, who spell their
last names Sutch? Is he hiding something, or trying to throw someone
off the track?
If Olivia was a step-daughter of Carol Sutch Gollin, why is she
described as a daughter? That would make George her step-son, yet
there is no mention of him at all!
The clear implication is that Olivia was the daughter of Carol Sutch,
not Dolores Gollin!
Assuming George and Olivia really do have the same father (pure
speculation at this point) this would make Olivia a half-sister, not a
sister as Gollin claims.
This certainly explains why the George Gollin household is in such a
state of disarray. Pruning the branches on the family tree is just par
for the course in the wonderful Gollin family.
More Olivia info:
Olivia Gollin-Hoepfl relocated to Dayton, OH, after living in Texas for
the past 12 years. Her husband is a consultant/systems
analyst/logistician who does a lot of work with Wright-Patterson Air
Force Base. Olivia is a special education teacher at the high school
level and also a consultant to school districts. She and a colleague
offer a classroom education organization course, which teaches
teachers, administrators, and parents to use positive reinforcement
through token economies to create a 100 percent passing rate and a
significant decrease in classroom discipline referrals. You can e-mail
her at ogo...@mail.sugarcreek.k12.oh.us if you are interested in the
one-day seminar. Olivia and her husband have a 6-year-old son, Lucas,
who is enjoying seeing snow in Ohio.

He refers to his father, not respectfully as "dad" or "my father" but
rather as "Sidney."
His father apparently served honorably in the military during WWII, but
this he denigrates as serving "in safety,"
apparently because he had the good fortune or skill to be assigned to
General Bradley's HQ.
Most interesting is his reference to poor Sidney serving "far from the
clutches of his destructive mother." What's that all about? Of whom
is George more contemptuous, his father or his grandma?
Dad started out as a physics major at Brooklyn College, but "flunked
out." Another nice anecdote about dear old dad. Many returning GIs
had a hard time adjusting to civilian life. The fantasy world of
academia may have had little appeal to a guy who had been living in the
harsh reality of war.
George proves himself to be a better man than daddy by getting a
doctorate in physics. You sure showed him, huh George. Imagine
spending your whole life trying to prove your old man was a shnook.
Bad news, George; he didn't care!
Dear old dad was "a terrific portrait photographer, but never managed
to earn enough money at anything he did to pay his share of the
household expenses." The hits just keep on coming. Having lived all
his adult life in academia, George obviously has no understanding or
appreciation of his father's situation.
But for dear old mom George has a much nicer tone. "Dolores" taught
English at Freeport High School (yes, where George attended high
school). Hmm, wonder what sort of grades he got in English class? Is
it what you know or who you know?
Then after "slogging through years of evening classes at Queens College
to get a masters degree and certification as a school administrator"
she became an assistant principal. Mommy is successful, daddy is not.
George seems to have a big issue with that.
And now we see that George is married to...a school administrator. That
really raises some issues. "I love you, Dolores...errr, I mean,
Melanie...."
George notes that his parents "divorced in 1975." That would have been
the same year his sister (or half-sister) Olivia (born in 1957) turned
18. Looks like Sidney stuck around just long enough for all the brats
to become legal adults, then split. Could this be another source of
George's hatred for his father?
Sidney got married to Carol Sutch, who was born in 1936, which would
have made her about 8 years younger than Dolores, who was born in 1928.
Looks like Sidney traded up for a newer model with less mileage.
Interesting that Olivia married a guy 5 years younger than herself.
Looks like dear old dad looked pretty good in Olivia's eyes, since she
followed his lead in finding a younger mate. Hope her husband William
doesn't get the same notion.
Small wonder that the George Gollin family is completely nuts. Not that
any of this excuses Gollin's deviant activities. Lots of people come
from broken homes or messed up families and don't turn to anti-social
behaviour as a catharsis. But it does explain a lot about Gollin and
his demented conduct.
No wonder George Gollin doesn't want his classmates to see this
website.
What is that old saying? People who live in glass houses......
