If you are seeking a legitimate and recognized degree stay far, far away
from this 'operation'. You can get more information by doing a search on
deja.com. On November 29/2000 John Bear wrote the following comment in a
letter "You may have noticed in the BC newspapers that officials there have
moved to close down Vancouver University Worldwide, the 'school' of which
you kindly sent me some photographs earlier this year." You might also
contact the British Columbia Ministyrt of Education. Do a search on the web
and follow the links until you get to the department taking care of private
postsecondary education. Give them a call or search their website for VWU.

There is a new consortium of legitimate universities who offer Dl that can
be linked at www.athabascau.ca. It is call the Canadian Virtual University.

BC has several legitimate DL universities that are available through a
little digging and the CVU.

Vancouver University Worldwide sued my publisher, Ten Speed Press, and their
Canadian distributor last year, because they didn't like what I said about
them in my 13th edition. As I understand it, the small claims court in BC
does not accept suits involving alleged libel or slander, so that was that.
I would encourage anyone with interest in VUW to examine their large
website, which I think gives a fine picture of the spirit of the place.
