Sle 3.xx freezes after 1 minute. By freezing. I mean the picture on my TN
set freezes, sound continues. Switching to another channel gives audio but
black screen.

I just hooked up a monitor to the emu computer, put it in snoop mode and the
numbers keep flying by even after the TV set picture freezes!

Does this mean that sle is still running fine?

I have swapped IRD's, emus, programmers. Same problem

Going to try a different pc later.

thx

Guys

I've tried different core files, and evrything else.

BIG QUESTION:

Is SLE still running if numbers fly across the screen??

I don't get "IVAC"................ Idon't get "reset"

It's like it's a video problem??

Remember: NUMBERS STILL FLY IN SNOOP MODE: This must mean something?

thx

My two EMU's and my test machine are humming along just fine. Are you
on the latest s/w? What is your command line? Cor file at USW 67?
Try turning off snoop mode and reboot everything.

If that don't work ad /fe no workie? then try /fa and as a last resort
try them both. After that it's BIOS time again Disable any cashing
and only keep video, floppy and keyboard. Disable everything else.
Don't spend too much time, an old pc that don't work won't work
sometimes. Nice to have extra verified eqpt. when this is happing so
you are absolutely sure.

It's still running. It's your core fileS. Use one that works. I
believe Gunny has one that works.
http://larmo.d2g.com:8080/emu/index.htm
Reboot your ird also.

Did you unplug you IRD for at least 15 minutes. I go bit by my IRD no
being reset.

I do a soft boot from the front panel. The program starts, I get
audio/video, 1 min later the screen freezes but sle is still running (no
ivac)

Are you specifying a bin file in the startup string?
If no it will default to the cor on the disk or make one from the
actual aux card. This has caused problems for other people ... so be
sure sle is starting with the file you want used in the emulator.

I take it from your answer that you did not HARD RESET YOUR IRD.
Please do that and see if it works.

I'll try that. The sequence is always the same, either way..... green
screen, searching for signal, etc.

I'll unplug it today

thx

Please do as Gunny has suggested, change your autoexec.bat
to this:

sle44e_p /a /pe1 /pa2 sle44e_p.cor

He is correct, you MUST specify a .cor file for starting emulation
or it will default one...this is NOT what you want if you have been applying
the "fixes" to your .cor as suggested in this forum, and on Gunny's site.
Kudos to PGM, Gunny, and all the other Gurus who help make this hobby
possible!

You do NOT need to specify a core file name of sle44e_p.cor

If you don't specify a filename SLE will look for a core file called
sle44e_p.cor

If there is one there with that name it will use it, as a last resort it
will also create a cor file from the card itself (this will only work on non
bs cards though).

Back up all your files on the floppy to the harddrive
Ok take the hcard67.bin off the boot disk I distributed and put it on
your boot disk
Delete your current sle44e_p.cor file
Change your startup string to sle44e_p /a hcard67.bin

Start sle ...see if it works.
Even if it doesn't Save a new cor file by pressing C
Reboot and see if it works.
