(Third in the 'Matt's Ghost' series. SPOILERS for the new companion's name.)
Matt's ghost being a temporal echo, she's conscious of her future, and when
she's able to talk about it.
Looking at her face, Matt's willing to bet that one of those times has just
arrived.
She leans in close to him, as if about to whisper.
A name pops into Matt's mind. Her name. Amy Pond.
He rolls it around, mulls it over.
They're another step closer to her arrival, he thinks, the moment she gets
written into reality.
But not yet...
"Thanks, Amy," he says.
Amy beams happily. So does Matt.
This is going to be a good day.

I like these little TDTO drabbles, by the way. Waiting to see how
it'll all turn out and who'll they'll be. Something a bit quieter for
the Round.
