Hi all - this is my "first" post. My actual first attempt only went to
Mel. It was about the alcoholic drinks that don't taste like alcohol. My
contribution was Grape Kool-Aide and Golden Grain (EverClear).

Anyway...

> Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, coast is clear.

Thinking about this saying - this is my reasoning...
When I drink it's usually beer, and lots of it. If for some reason I stop
drinking beer [dead keg, etc :o) ] I may start drinking liquor. But I
drink it at the pace I drank beer, which is way too fast. Thus, I am
"sicker." But that's just my opinion.

As I told Mel -- I really love this group.

I did my undergraduate work at GA Tech. I was in the band there, and we
used to be sponsored by Budweiser. So, we had an "open door" policy at
the distribution center. Drop an empty keg off, get a full one, kind of
thing. I still don't know how I graduated. I certainly don't remember
most of it! :o) I'm now in grad school trying to get my MBA and working
at The Weather Channel as a Research Analyst. Cool company. We have a
softball team in a beer league. Company pays for league and beer. Darn
the luck! ;o)

Well, enough about me -- hope I didn't bore anyone. Or drive you to drink ;>

Oh, by the way -- was the Century Club II 100 shots of beer in 100
minutes? If so, I did that once in 1987 with Bud (of course - it was
free). 8 of us started but only 2 of us made it all the way. Of course,
it was about 2 hours into the party we decided to start so some of the
quitters had no choice. Also it was a pool party and we went swimming
afterwards. Boy, that was dumb... but fun.

Hope to be more active in this group,
Bear.

but...but...but i don't have any irish music. i think about the closest thing
i've got is a thin lizzy cd or two. somehow i don't think that counts. when
i last did the cc, i listened to rush, sabbath, and hendrix. 'course, when i'm
drinking i'm usually listening to rush, sabbath, and hendrix. maybe i should
get out more...naaaahh. the more money i spend on music, the less i have to
spend on beer. i've already got a couple of basses. i can make my own bleedin
music. hehe
