wow, this seems rather significant to me, i know little about chemistry or lsd production by any means, but tell me if this is correct... ergotamine is a required precursor for lsd production. the availability of ergotamine to chemists with ill-motives is basically nonexistant. maybe with this new method of obtaining ergotamine the result will be more chemists with significantly less talent and equipment could produce lsd. is it a long shot? uyis

I'm not sure. I just came across this. If you could pull this off, ergotamine acquisition is brought into the realm of possibility. Funny how it comes from a glowing mushroom though. We will see how this pans out.

This is very interesting. I have some experience in mycology and chemistry, but lack the equipment to verify the alkaloid production. I wonder if the O. subilludens species and the O. illudens or O. olearius species all contain these alkaloids in sufficient quantities.
I am hopefull that alkaloid production can be increased with UV or chemical stimulus, possibly very similar to the production of alkaloids from claviceps. If we can get some good data on this it might mean for a much better path to precursors than we had ever imagined, basic mycology tends to be easier and less expensive.

U can get ergotamine form migraine medicine. On the other hand, morning glory yields LSA which can be readily converted to LSD. Only flaw is the yields are low so don't expect to go into business. The actual method is easy to find and it's not as hard as it seems. Purity isn't that great at home but u can always compensate with higher doses.

Good point Ray. hmmmm..... I'd like to be able to synth LSA into powder form like they did with Genesis a while back. You could make a (legal) killing....
BTW I dunno who put the "North Florida" in the subject line, but if you're from there... whereabouts? I'm in St. A

who hasnt got their hands on ergotamine migraine medication? i use to get boxes full of 1 mg ampules of ergotamine tartrate from nurses. but who is gonna be able to reproduce that type of acquisition for everyone? who here has gone overseas and got pure ergotamine tartrate that could share their story and provide details on how someone else could do it? I and the group are all ears for this type of thing.

Wrong species. The patent is for clitocybe subilludens. It states that presence of ergot alkaloids was surprising since a closely related species of the same genus does not make these alkaloids. Only grows in Florida and canary islands, as far as is known.

Omphalotus olearius and Clitocybe illudens are synonymous. Both names refer to the same species.

But whether Omphalotus olearius and Omphalotus (Clitocybe) subilludens are the same species is up in the air.

yeah we got to straighten this out. we dont need confusion on which spores or where it grows, or else all hell will break loose and saddam hussein and satan will will come from hell to reign over the earth.

ok I just checked. I did indeed post the correct spores link as I thought. thanks for double checking on me guys, you almost had me convinced i was wrong about something else again. definately dont just accept things posted here at face value, if ya know what i mean. ;)

I noticed a supplier that carries 30 grams dry of these mushrooms. Interesting.

That flaw is a myth.

If you proceed through lysergic acid, recrystallizing it at the lysergic acid stage removes any other alkoloids or impurities carried in from the extraction.
For the real deal you'll need an alumina column...not easy for the kitchen chemist...better to stop at LSA, dissolve it in reagent ethanol (or everclear) nad drink it...the trip is almost the same, you just have to play with the dosing a bit.

yeah a burette filled with alumina is hard to get. heh. perhaps fractional crystalization method of separation?
