Sort of off topic, but nobody posts here anyway. I just picked up a
bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed cask strength whiskey last weekend.
108 proof. Damn, that's some fine sipping whiskey, smoother than it has
any right to be.

Drink it out of a snifter, straight up.

Agreed, great stuff. Try it with a nice cigar.

Sorry, I don't use tobaccy any more. I was a smoker for 25 years. I
quit about 15 years ago, and now I stay completely away from the stuff.
It just dulls the senses anyway.

I'm one of those people who really love the taste of a good whiskey. My
wife is another. It's nice that we are getting some American whiskeys
that can stand with the best of the imported spirits.

I'm off the cigarettes as well but for some reason a fine cigar and a nice
bourbon really work well together. Almost better than chocolate and peanut
butter!

BTW, which Rare Breed did you get? WT03RB? That is the latest and is
superb.

That's the one. The local liquor store had it on a promotional sale, so
I picked up a bottle on spec. How big are the batches? Do I need to
stock up?

That one has been around for over a year. I do not know how long the
batches generally last.

My kid brother's favorite Bourbon, too. I'll stick with Old Forester, which
I've been sippin' for 54 years.

If you like Rare Breed, you might also like Russel's Reserve. It is also
from Wild Turkey and is very smooth.

Man, Larry, I agree 108% :) I never cared all that much for the regular WT

I have developed a real preference for cask strength in the last couple
years. I have come to the conclusion that watering whiskey does not
improve it.
