I'm a graduate physicist researching Theology,
Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience, History, Dreams, Lucid
Dreams, God, and Life After Death.
The issue of "composite faces" has recently emerged as a
signigicant item in my research.
Freud mentions the phenomenon in his Interpretation Of
Dreams and cites examples of composite faces that "look like
a combination of two people at once".
I myself have experienced the phenomenon in my own dreams
and can remember vividly, talking to a person in a dream and
suddenly seeing his face turn into mine while I was talking
to him!
If anyone reading this can recall any instances of this
"composite face" phenomenon, either in their own dreams, or
in literature citations or online discussion... I would be
very grateful to hear about them.

This seems to speak of indentification, that the other person is
experienced as you. It could signify that you are projecting your own
personality on him. But I'm not sure.

Most of the "dual faces" that I've seen were combinations
of two similar physical types but with noticeably differing
personalities.. mainly due to the fact of one of them being
significantly higher on the human growth curve. IOW a high
perception person superimposed on a low perception person
but both the same genetic type but with a noticeable
difference in personality caused by a "Nurture" difference.
I got the distinct feeling that the message of the dream
was to demonstrate the meaning and physical cause of
"transcendance" or "enlightenment"... by demonstrating the
remarkable difference in personality caused by an increase
of physical growth.... or even perhaps caused by a lifting
of repression due to hard won psychological development.
Galton is famous for making "superpositition photographs"
of multiple people. Problem was he never had a clear cut
idea or theory of what he was doing.
I would like to see some composite photos made of TWO
different genetically similar but psychologically different
personalities.... maybe I could do this with the computer?
Even more interesting would be a multi frame "transition
video" of the lower perception person turning into the
higher perception person... sort of a "psychotherapy demo"
as it were.... a modern scientifically based version of
"Jekyll and Hyde"!
