VINTAGE ASTROLOGY

1992

Contemporary astrology owes its raison d'être to the growing number of
astronomical discoveries in the trans-neptunian realm, particularly
since year 1992, when the first trans-neptunian object was found and
nicknamed “Smiley”. The first cubewano object was smiling at
astrologers all over the world. It still complements e.g. Eris in the
WTC chart. In updating our astrological assets on daily basis, we tend
to drop insignificant, mostly obsolete or largely dwarfed objects like
Smiley 1996 PW or ex asteroid Juno. 1992 QB1 was in many respects the
first occult object in an astrological chart. Soon there was “Karla”
and 1996 PW.

1996 PW

1996 PW is currently in Canis Minor. We have dedicated a separate
publication to this ascendant of ex American president George Bush.
Apart from the eastern ascendant, many popular astrological objects
make conjunction with 1996 PW in Canis Minor, namely 2003 AZ84, 2002
VE95, Olympia, Ra-Shalom, Thereus, 2002 VG131, Halley comet, Okyrhoe,
Khufu, 2004 XY60, 200 JZ115 and Juno. Al these outer guardians,
comets, centaurs and Apoheles have been delineated at discovery time
as published on Internet.

CUSTOM CHARTS

We can show the 1996 PW conjunction with an animation along with
selected screen shots, or we can observe the object with the help of
modern NASA based methods. On occasion, we include 1992 QB1 in
horoscopes that include the seventeen Dark Planets.

NOSTALGIA

A nostalgic horoscope would feature LILIT VERA, Juno, Nibiru's moons,
Vulkan, Chiron and the Devil's Rose. The first cubewano and plutino
objects no longer feature within our charts, due to their
insignificant magnitude as compared to 2007 OR10 or Eris.

HOLLOW EARTH

Like a vintage science fiction movie, an outdated horoscope has its
own charms. Some thirty years ago, the public believed that there were
twelve rising zodiacal constellations at east. This is like the hollow
Earth craze in Nazi Germany, or the lingering belief in flat Earth.
And we were already walking the Moon at the time! Astrology surely had
less fans than nowadays. Not everybody was entitled to astrologist
status. Astrologers knew a lot.

MEMORY CHART

Most astrologers performed by using an updated ephemeris, but some did
their calculation traditionally, that is, by heart. Even to this day,
an astrologer will swiftly calculate a chart by heart, even before
another would boot his system. Synastry would be performed during the
introduction. In ten minutes, the skilled erotic astrologer would
already know compatibility, marriage proposal and next opportunity.
Excellent timing included LILIT VERA, the otherwise rather “static”
Dark Planets, 1992 QB1 and a handful of centaurs. The relationship
chart would be directed. Later on, with the help of an ephemeris,
timing would be determined to the minute. The subject of the horoscope
had nothing to notice, since the astrologer would ask the birth data
only casually, in candid curiosity. “You must be a Gemini to have eyes
like this.” LILIT VERA and the Moon provided spicy details for the
astrologer's entertainment and, we must say, clandestine lust. Of
course, the Moon was difficult to calculate, but usually we would
already know its position for the day in question. Even a NASA
integrator has difficulties in tracking the most insolent of all
objects in astrology. Venus is not even nearly so unpredictable,
albeit it has its own quirks. In those early days, some zodiacal
positions like Moon in Sextans were already known, but such knowledge
was at best so scattered as to be useless in direction, especially in
working out dynamic synastry by heart.

VINTAGE ASTROLOGY

In observing a vintage horoscope, the only node you will find within
was the lunar node. Comet Chiron was regarded as centaur. Only a
couple of tiny frozen potatoes represented the trans-neptunian region.
There were at best perhaps five objects to represent the centaurs in a
chart and Juno was regarded as major asteroid!

HYPOTHETICAL SKIES

The first article in the Vintage Astrology series deals with the
hypothetical planets. We shall see that many real “minor planets” (the
term is obsolete) such as tiny Juno1 already pertain to vintage
astrology, too small and feeble to have any major influence on the
horoscope chart. Namely, Juno is not the only object that is dwarfed
by the dwarf planetsi.

HYPOTHETICAL PLANETS

If recapitulation is not human nature, at east it leads to one2. Even
after we had all the major and minor dwarf planets delineated by
house3 and IAU constellation, we nevertheless turn back in sympathy
towards the time of hypotheticals. Surely, there is fair possibility
that some of the old hypothetical planets were actually discovered,
but as we usually lack latitude in comparison, there may be
difficulties in officially claiming discovery.

DARK PLANETS

Kypris, Lamia and Thanateros still boast flowery delineation as the 17
dark planets haunt one's horoscope. As always with hypotheticals, it
is “not there but it acts on the horoscope”. In human affairs, even
the wrong system works. Moreover, it is the wrong system that is
liable to get acclaim. After all, we all know who or what rules the
planet4.

LILIT VERA

Cassini Lilith should be actually named after Riccioli. This object
may figure as hypothetical now, but it surely was deemed as real until
just a couple of years ago. For centuries, Lilith had a reputation of
an observed object. It seems that only years ago the astronomers have
given up the hunt. The last record may have been a confused report
from Switzerland. Nevertheless, in the spirit of mystery, LILIT VERA
still haunts our horoscopes. As with the dark planets, the best of
LILIT VERA comes through its delineation by house, in horary
astrology, by direction and tropical sign. All that was written about
LILIT VERA abounds with black magick, explicit sexual content and
atavistic sex.

BLACK SUN

As we recollect ancient experience, the dark Sun holds the 14th degree
of Capricorn5, assuming tropical coordinates. Conversely, the real Sun
holds the 27th degree of Taurus.

NIBIRU

Is it there? The Nibiru moons have been delineated by this Author,
along with their direction. Believe it or not, we have directed a
Nibiru model that much resembles our own solar system. Vintage
material abounds.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Klaudio Zic is the author of the Academic Zodiac. In his long career,
he published the delineation of all the dwarf planets, centaurs and
objects of interest. The main attraction of these works is the
original pursuit on the trail of the new object right from the first
day it was discovered. Vintage delineations include 1992 QB1, Eris and
2007 OR10.

CONCLUSION

Are there other hypothetical objects or points? Of course yes; some
are obscure like Nemesis, but others are quite fathomable like the
Devil's Rose. Again, abundant material on the European hypotheticals
can be traced back to the discovery of 1992 QB1.

1Nevertheless, refer to Junocentric horoscope within the classic
Planetocentric Astrology publication.

2This mysterious sentence pertains to RTRRT initiation.

3Universal Cartesian house system but also just about any house, like
Regiomontanus, the delineations being adapted to any user, even
tropical astrology. As publications abound, we could perhaps suggest a
classic: Dwarf Planets for Christians. All dwarf planets have been
specially delineated in the seventh house of the horoscope.

4Or do we? See RTRRT.

5It is understandable that tropical coordinates are assumed since the
spelling is otherwise Capricornus.
