REGARDING LEONARD'S STATEMENT

RESPONSE Eighteen months ago a woman by the name of Delaney Bruce, from Maryland aka Paula Books began to write both Standing Deer and Leonard Peltier. Delaney was invited to the pow wow at Leavenworth and asked by Leonard to join the LPDC committee. She has been the sole input to Leonard on Pat and Marquetta who were both banned from the LPDC office as of January. Pat resigned last July and stepped into the office something like two days a week and only when accompanied by Audra, Leonard's mother until Janurary 23rd, the last day either of them have been permitted there.. She didn't want to place herself in a position that would open these kinds of accusations. Delaney manned the office essentially during this time period. A bookkeeper brought in by Denis, Dawn Hawk***....appeared to be so inept that the independent auditor had to back up and reconcile check statements before he could even audit the books. Moreover, she attempted to take the records with her and erase the hard drive. The hard drive had to be sent out for data recovery. Fed interference? Maybe..She was let go while still on probation, and then turned around and attempted to sue the committee for wrongful firing. All these shenannigans prevented the committee from getting on with a fund raising campaign placed on hold last fall.... more »
