I believe there are still some free nntp servers out there, so thought I'd
ask as they can read these groups but get frustrated at not being able to
post. I though Google had an audio version these days, but I have sympathy
with anyone attempting to use Googles crap interface. I would certainly n to
use it!

. http://www.eternal-september.org/ - free (you still have to register),
but (I think) text 'groups only (and not necessarily all of them, but
include this one). ..
. There are others - one called something like aioi seems popular.

I am still looking for ideas for stand alone usenet clients, and
reasons for choosing one of them over the rest.(easy screenreader
access required!)

I am still looking for accessible usenet clients, and why users like
the one they use.

BTW-I justtried to post something like this but it did not make it
on, so there may be a similar msg... --

. Sorry, I thought it was news servers you were after (or maybe there is
more than one person looking, and you're looking for different things).
.
. The only one I have experience with with speech is the old Outlook
Express; my friend seems to be managing OK with it. There's one
situation where the only way to get out of a situation is to close and
reopen it, but we know how to avoid that. (It's when you tab to the
preview pane from the first posting in a 'group, without selecting it,
so that the preview pane says no article is selected, or something like
that.) .
. I can't at the moment see why Free Agent shouldn't work reasonably
well, but I haven't tried it.
