"Microsoft has said it fully complies with existing
Web standards."

[Look quickly, that's a volatile Yahoo News link.]

Give me strength.

Undoubtedly, Microsoft's compliance with existing
web standards is precisely why every other browser
maker has to provide bales of if-then code to handle
the nonstandard crap Microsoft uses as "private
extensions" of W3C Internet standards, leveraged off
its near monopoly on OS/browser technology.

Undoubtedly, Microsoft's compliance with existing
web standards is why their broken implementation
compliance by Internet Explorer of W3C standards,
which every web site must somehow work around,
effort multiplied hundreds of millins of times to
individual web site implementors, leveraged off
Microsoft's corporate-existence-long incompetence to
deliver software ready for use, exists and is
universally seen.

Both nonstandard exceptions and dodgy
implementations by Microsoft exist precisely to
break other browsers access to sites written only
with reference to Microsoft documentation, and to
make those browsers seem less competitive, "because
they break so often", to the user base than is
Internet Explorer.

You'll perhaps have noticed all those web pages that
refuse to display for you because you are not
accessing them with Internet Explorer?

Every one of those sites is more evidence that what
Microsoft claims above is a deliberate lie.

xanthian.

It's not very clear from the article, but
Microsoft's representatives may very well have told
that lie in court and under oath.
