Do note the turkey. Only it's not the same, it's a different color.
In order to retain the incredibly high worth of the original turkeys,
which are "Earth Orange", they released this new one as "Dark Orange".
For those that don't know the turkeys were originally released back in
the late 90s in a couple Scala sets and in one Belville set...except
they only ran a limited number of the sets and once they were out that
was simply it. As such the price for turkey Legos wound up sky
rocketing to over $25 a piece...USED. In fact, even the new ones are
currently selling at $13 a piece and everyone is going crazy buying
them because everyone thinks Lego is gonna do what they did before
where it'll just be a limited release and then they'll screw the fans
again. I would buy now while the getting is good, not individually of
course but buy the actual set. Leaving it sealed in the box of course
will also equate to a much higher resale value.

What PMS numbers are those?
Drew
These new fish:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=bb346
Which are very cool. Only one color right now though.
And COWS!
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=bb395pb01
...heh, I bet that's really pissing off those guys who are selling
Lego customs:
https://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=303
Oh well, at least they still have pigs...and sheep...plus they have
female cows with attachable udders which is kinda neat.
Now here's something else kinda neat:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=6239-1
They're using a trans-neon orange hat plume for a flame now, instead
of the traditional flame bits.
Here's what the completed cow looks liak:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=bb395pb01c01
They've got all sorts of neat new minifig stuff too. Like old man
heads:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas409
And they've brought back those really old hoods.
More dress forms and women's heads:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas404
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas412
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi086
It'd be nice if they could make some moar modern ones.
The blacksmith is also pretty cool:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas413
As are the peasants:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas411
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas410
The coolest thing of all...TRANS PURPLE elements!
http://www.bricklink.com/P/51/4589.gif
Check that out! That's just fucking awesome!
Dark blue pirate boats too:
http://www.bricklink.com/P/63/2551.jpg
Pearl gold treasure chests:
http://www.bricklink.com/P/115/4738ac01.jpg
A new red and green bird:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2546p02
Mermaids:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi088
Actual dynamite!
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=bb345
Instead of just a decorated tile.
These new helmets with the Power Miner series:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pm010
And these rock monster guys:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pm005
They also have a new farm theme:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7636-1
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7637-1
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7634-1
Which really does prove that Lego actually listens to its customers
because there have been several large threads over the past year about
how Lego should do a farm theme...there was also a particularly
scathing e-mail I sent them about the lack of turkeys (and purple
lights, amongst other things) whilst still making available the turkey
legs, so that may have helped their decision to re-release them.
Although as I recall in said e-mail I said I wanted to see them in
PAB, not necessarily in a set...guess they figured this way was more
profitable.
I was a little disappointed that they didn't come out with new, orange
construction hats, instead just using old red ones:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cty034
They've got these new support beam pieces:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64449
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64448
Only in yellow though and they're not too much to write home about.
One of the new mining sets comes with an orange motor bike:
http://www.bricklink.com/TL/2076.jpg
Some of these sets haven't been inventoried yet so I can only go by
the picture to see if they have new parts.
Here's a new piece:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=50948
...not entirely sure what you'd use it for, but it's new!
They have these new foldable track bits:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64699
...not quite sure what to make of that.
Oh, here's that new piece in action:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=8122-1
I guess that's kinda cool, you could use it for making really
slim-line UAVs and such.
It hasn't been inventoried yet, but on that new farm set I can see
some new stuff:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7637-1
A brown ladder...what might be a new cowboy hat (or a new color)...
brown fences... and the moo cows of course.
There's this new large plane base:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=54093
And these new aircraft wheel bases:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=42608
More new airplane parts:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=54091
New cockpits (I think):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=41883
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=50986pb02
Shirtless (and quite muscular) minifig:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj029
Sponge Bob as usual provides nothing of interest:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=3834-1
...well, other than the hamburger design anyway. The sticker on his
TV might also be semi-worthwhile.
This is neat, an orange dump truck:
http://www.bricklink.com/SL/8958-1.jpg
(sans the truck)
There's a new dark red octopus:
http://www.bricklink.com/SL/6240-1.jpg
There's this new mine mech:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=8957-1
Which might be good for the mechish parts.
Dark green pirate hats:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=8397-1
I like all these little sets they have, makes it easy to get new
parts.
I'm also liakin a lot of the newer technic stuff, not the bricks
themselves, but the electronics/robotics side of it, with that whole
NXT AI system they have, that's pretty awesome.
New tuxedo torso from Indiana Jones:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj024
And a black version of Indy's hat:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj028
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj027
And they're Asian! LOL, ethnic Legos, I love it!
Short-round:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj025
Willie:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=iaj026
Stupid hair (at least the tiara comes off), but a neat outfit and an
especially neat female head.
The beards look a lot better on the new pirates:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi103
I'm also liakin the female pirates:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi101
The new pirate insignia doesn't look as good IMHO:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2335pb30
This is kinda neat:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=8960-1
If nothing else for the wheels and the drill parts.
There's a new canopy on the new farm tractor set:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7634-1
And a new overalls torso.
It looks like this year they're doing almost everything as stickers,
rather than painted bricks. I guess because it's cheaper.
There's this educational set which hasn't been inventoried yet:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=9580-1
But right away I notice it has a new lime green hat...only in that
set...which is an educational set...which basically translates to $25+
bucks a pop if you wanted to buy one solo. Lego frequently does shit
liak that to over-inflate the worth of some parts...like the monorail
track...sweet Jesus that shit is worth a fortune. I've actually been
considering selling off all my monorail track, simply because it's
worth so much money. Especially the straight track pieces, which sell
for around $20 a piece new.
I've also got four of these large cypress trees:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=x69
Which I've been thinking about selling, since they go for around $25 a
piece in good condition and mine are in new condition.
I originally got them from a couple of these sets:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=9360-1
Like the others it was sold as an educational set and therefore only
available in teaching supply stores and through special catalogs.
Lucky for me my mom was a teacher, otherwise I never would have got
those sets.
Back to the new parts there's this new raised desert island road
plate:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64649
Might be cool if it wasn't so tiny. Here's the set in appears in:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=6241-1
It looks like it can actually stick on top a regular road plate...that
might be kinda cool.
There's a new sectional wooden hull piece:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64645
You could extend the existing hulls and make larger ships with it.
Or smaller:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64651
Here's the new drill pieces by themselves:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64713
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64712
Willie's head:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626bpb351
I wish they'd get some more ethnic oriented Legos, like Mace Windu:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=sw220
I think the only other way to get African American figures is from the
basketball sets...which I believe are defunct which means they're
expensive as hell.
Yoda looks pretty good:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=sw219
Another view of Willie's hair:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=bb391
Check out these new stickers:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=7631stk01
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=8401stk01
LOL, I like the little Lego guy shadow, that's cool.
There's a new control panel:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3069bpb94
...except it's a sticker, although I guess that does have some
advantages.
Another view of the mermaid torso:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pb526c01
A new roll cage:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=64450
They've got these horse rider hats too:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=twn076
Which are basically construction hats without the end lip.
They really need to improve the mermaids tail section though:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi088
It's a little ho-hum and more grim than enchanting, although I guess
that's to be expected as they borrowed it directly from the Harry
Potter sets without making any changes to it.
Patrick would make for a good beach goer:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=bob022
Again about the only reason I can think of to even buy any of those
Sponge Bob sets. And you'd still have to use Brasso to rub off the
three red dots.
Another view of the pirate wench:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi101
This is a pretty cool minifig:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pi100
For liak a prisoner or a castaway.
New droid:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=sw231
R7-A7
Another view of the rock monsters (they come in assorted colors):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=pm004
They actually modified this torso:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cty130
Because it's different from the ones I recently bought.
On one last note given the new pirate torsos, plus the original ones,
plus all the ones from in between when I was mostly ignoring pirate
stuff, you could essentially put together a rather large pirate crew
with no two crew members looking alike.
>There's quite a few new parts of interest this year.
<snip>
There's also some new stuff on Brick Arms if you haven't checked in a
while:
http://www.brickarms.com
A spy brief case:
http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/accessories/SpyBriefcase.aspx
Which carries a nice lookin SMG cleverly concealed in a brief case.
They've also got these medic kits:
http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/accessories/medkit.aspx
Which include a scalpel and a hypodermic needle in a medical decorated
case. It'd be neat to see more medical stuff liak that.
They've also got a new baseball bat:
http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/weapons/Bat.aspx
For "zombie defense", LOL.
The whole array of weapons they have is unbelievably cool:
http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/Weapons.aspx
They even have sci-fi weapons!
They've got some minifigs too but most of them are on back order
(except for the terrorist d00d):
http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/Minifigs.aspx
Something else I forgot to mention in my previous post, although not
~entirely~ new there's a new Lego laptop that came with some of the
Agent sets:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=62698
And along with that Agent Trace's hair is new:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?M=agt002
And pretty awesome at that. There's a variety of other new parts that
came out with the Agent series, but I won't bother going into too much
detail over them. One I will mention though is the new shark forms:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=62605pb01c01
That's pretty awesome, much moar detail than the old ones. One last
thing I'll mention is this one often overlooked Harry Potter set:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=4762-1
It came out in 2005 and had a variety of unique parts, including a
minifig shark head, the first mermaid (albeit a bit scary looking),
and the most interesting thing is the minifig heads that have CLOSED
EYES. As far as I know it's the only set to have minifigs with closed
eyes, which means that their value will continue to increase
substantially over time.
I have no idea, I've never bothered to look them up...I don't think
anyone else has either. The two are pretty similar in color though,
to the point where it's hard to tell them apart in a lot of
photographic conditions.
For many years Lego was outsourcing a lot of their operations to this
one doofy company that did all sorts of idiot things, which is how we
wound up with "gray" and "blay" (blue gray). The colors are so
similar that you can't really tell them apart unless you've got
perfect lighting and in photographic conditions they're basically
indistinguishable from each other. It's a real headache though for a
lot of people who just want a specific color or who are selling and
have to try and figure out which color it is they have (and sometimes
they get it wrong).
Lego is often so sloppy they even mix a lot of those old "blay" pieces
in with new sets when they should have simply dumped and recycled that
entire run. On the one hand it's nice that there are so many new
color options with Legos, but the down side is that it gives them a
lot moar area to screw up and get sloppy with. Some even speculate
that "medium transparent blue" was actually initially just a fuckup
and rather than redo the whole run they simply used them up in some of
the moar obscure sets to try and save money.
I believe Lego finally ditched that company though, so maybe the uber
quality they used to have when the old man was still around will come
back.
Here's another incredible fuckup by Lego's graphic designers:
http://www.backwater-productions.net/_images/_Lego/Lego_Stupidity.jpg
I mean, honestly, would it really have been *THAT* difficult to create
seamlessly tiled images?
I've also found, in my work in restoring and making/selling old Lego
sticker sheets:
http://www.backwater-productions.net/_images/_Lego/The_Tedium_Flows_Like_A_River.jpg
http://www.backwater-productions.net/_images/_Lego/Right_Left_Right.jpg
...that they have an absolute enormity of screwups in their designs.
To the point where I'm convinced that they simply HAND DREW them,
rather than create them as I'm doing as vector graphics via
Illustrator. Granted they didn't have all the sophisticated vector
graphics software back then that we have today, but they certainly had
enough to produce a few simplistic sticker sheets. I can't actually
even call mine exact reproductions since they're so vastly improved on
the originals (which often don't even have straight lines or perfect
curves). I actually considered for some time recreating the fuckups
in order to produce a more exact replicate of the originals, but
craptastic quality was just liak an itch that had to be scratched, so
I've instead opted to fix all the screwups.

I take that back, I just found this site:
http://www.isodomos.com/Color-Tree/
It has all sorts of information about Lego colors...probably more than
you ever wanted to know.
I somehow highly doubt that Obama is going to be making any radical
moves, especially if he has any intention at all of running for a
second term. A ban liak that is more likely to come state side than
government side, in which case you can simply buy out of state.

It wasn't the gun nuts that voted him into office, why would he care
about them now. Anywayz, this is straight from his campaign site.
http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/urban_policy/#crime-and-law-
enforcement
Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal
the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law
enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police
officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and
fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense
measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while
keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have
them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this
country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault
Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and
not on our streets.
Wow. That went right over your head, didn't it?
Drew
Well, have fun thinking that Obama is going to end the whole world, I
don't really give a shit personally.
Yeesh, the Obama nuts are almost even worse than the Bush nuts.
um?, I never said anything like that. I voted for Obama, but for
completely different reasons. I'm just making a bit of an investement on
the inevitable. Even if there isn't a ban, I've had fun, and didn't
loose any money.
Oh I knew you were being a retard, I just thought it'd be more fun to
treat your stupidity as literal as possible for a very specific reason
which seems to have gone right on over YOUR pointed little head.
It's okay Drew, you're not really very creative in any respect at all
so I can understand that things liak Legos wouldn't be of any interest
to you. Nor would you have any interest in any of the studies showing
that building with Legos directly stimulates your brains creative
centers. Which coincidentally is why many businesses actually pile a
bucket of Legos onto the board room table during brain storming
sessions.
Of course as inherently deficient and creatively stunted as you are,
well I don't think even Lego building could possibly bring you out of
that particular inane stupor that you call a life.

Just get me a mindstorm set.
(As it is, my so-called living room is a minefield of white, black, green
and grey legos as my eight-year-old works on some clone wars fighter and my
six-year-old works on a stegosaurus.
