Well I've finally managed to get my site updated with the pictures from our
trip to Canada - and as a few of you were interested in seeing them, you can
now do so by going to the link below...

There's a pic of Rastin, myself & my wife in there somewhere - yep, its time
to play spot the tourists! :))

Enjoy!

Woo hoo! look at me =8- )

Nice pictures Les, as I said before, you have seen parts of Canada I haven't
seen yet. Unfortunately, I still don't have my pictures ready. Well we keep
it for the next surprise.

That's about 64 pictures out of over 200 taken over the fortnight we were
out there! Phew! It cost a fortune getting them all developed - next time
we're over there (next year hopefully) I'll have the digital camera too, so
that should cut down on the processing costs...

Now, how much are two 512mb Compact Flash Cards? ;)

You can also buy tiny hard drives for your digital camera. They go up to 6
gig storage. Not bad

Card-drives/Micro Drives use more power so it will shorten your cameras
battery life! But a small portable harddrive could be useful. Like this:

I wish I could! The bear was sitting at the side of the road when we saw it
and when we reversed to get a few shots it ambled back into the forest...

We went to Grouse Mountain in Vancouver where they have adopted two bear
cubs whose mothers were killed in separate incidents... :( Apparently there
have been a few bears killed on the highways and they are going to be
putting fences up and build a few more under/overpasses for the animals
(according to local news reports).

If you ever get the opportunity to go to Canada, just do it! It is such a
wonderful place - about 1/2 hour ago I saw part of the film 'Cliffhanger'
(with Sly Stallone, John Lythgow etc) and the scenery was just beautiful,
plenty of lovely snow covered mountains...

I'm longing to go back to Vancouver, Victoria, Jasper and Banff now! :}

Sorry to be pedantic Les, but I think Cliffhanger was filmed in the
Dolomites.

It does look awesome out there though. I often wonder what I'm doing crammed
into this tiny flat in London when I could be living on a Canadian ranch
somewhere, with the no-one but the bears for my neighbours. Maybe one day...

The other interesting thing I learnt about Canada the other day is the
incredibly low incidence of gun crime; although there are 7 million guns in
Canada, there are only about 20-ish gun-related homicides *per year*. Very
cool, very chilled people I reckon - sorted.

Don't worry - I knew it wasn't filmed in Canada, its just the spectacular
views shown in the film reminded me so much of the Canadian Rockies!

Yep - join the queue. I would like to emigrate there in the future...

And with beautiful views like that, you can't blame them for being chilled!

:)

Or you could move down to Vancouver. Perfect city life, in the mean time we
occasionally get bears digging into our garbage cans. Yes we live that close
to the nature :- )

Hi Les,

Great photos and I really appreciated the Jasper -Banf section.

The waterfall in js9.jpg is amazing.
Canada is another place on planet earth to preserve and respect.

I'm very attracted by the native culture in Canada, and how has been
transmitted into the modern life style *architecture for example*

May be this autumn I will upload some photos taken in Corsica island.

I think is very interesting to share different trip experience and let
people in this international comunity to be aware of the diversity and
the beauty of our planet.

Have a good Karma

Thanks, Les! Nice shots. :)
