Adult Site Designer / Builder
Taurus Hall
building an adult website. The site will be approx. 3-pages and an
ezboard page (the latter is built already). The pages will be as
follows:
Intro / Disclaimer (text page with logo)
Affiliate links and feeds to various sites plus link to ezboard
Some adult content and affiliate links.
I need someone who can work with many affiliate links usingthe correct
id codes and understands how to grab these banners, coontent and HTML
code from the various sites that I'm pre-approved with.

I hope that I provided enough information to give you a realistic idea
of what is desired.

I can tell from their other posts in this group and brief portfolios
featured on their business sites that those who are the most negative seem
to be the poorer.
I should also take this opportunity to thank those who have replied via
email. Apparently what a few here see as the fringe the vast majority in
this group view as the frontier.

Neither would I.
I have done (heh heh) extensive research. Adults sites are notorious for
use of banner ads, popups and circular links. Most so-called "adult"
sites are often just banner farms. Often an "adult check" login is
required.
It's just not something that you'd want on a resume:
"Look, I created a site that violates every design rule in the book and
it's about hot teens". Yeah, right.

payed me with hardware (e.g. digital camera). I'm still using that
hardware today ;-)
I left SF after two months and actually never finished up the site.

could've been a bit more forward; as due to many past experiences, *small
budget* meant *no budget at all*; that's why the general negative attitude

They encourage child molesting. They are for adults in body but
thumb-sucking spoiled brat infants in mind. So then what is my interest in
this? I teach women and children to protect themselves from these babies
who go to these sites and carry out wht these sites promote and encourage.
I have a vested intererest in stopping this dog poop from spreading. I
don't want to have to teach women and children to protect themselves from

benefit of doubt but in this situation I simply don't believe you. You have
a vested ionterest but it has nothing to do with "teaching." Even police
officers are not as emotionally distrubed as you appear to be on this issue.

find, was a reply to my solicitation to find a design person for my adult
web site. I know how USENT (not newsgroups work) and you are an example of

I would rather not teach. I do not enjoy headaches after simulation. I do
not enjoy the bit tongue. I do not enjoy the kick to the groin that

fighting for funds to keep this going as NOBODY in the organization earns a
profit on this, though some are blessed with enough grants (campus and civil
police departments) to just cover expenses (they do not cover wages for

a conference that will end up costing about $2,000 to learn to "beat up
women." This is after 2 surgeries to the 2 primary targets since April 8.

Don't just mix things, The issue is not with porn, porn has been there
longer than the United States in their actual state, in europe it was long
there, i think the issue is more with communication, and that has been lost
quite a lot in our world, people don't take enough time talking to kids
about what they might have seen on tv, and so on. If you don't tell a kid
that the guy who shoots another in a movie isn't reality, but you talk
things out, and manage not only with Huge symbols like PG ratings and so on,
things might change.
The porn and sex industry has been there, and problems have arised more
since the closed houses have disappeared, because people just do that
hiding, by making it a huge taboo and sin to enjoy sex, that's what leads to
more sexual assaults, and so on, you hide things, make people think that a
good wank is evil and son on, then they feel that they are not normal, they
leave that normality status... doesn't that lead to something ? of course if
you're not considered as normal, why act like others ? just go crazy, then
they will at least have a reason to think that you are...

When did I say that? I saw someone else say that they are slapped around
and indeed many are. Linda Lovelace testified to that fact and I have heard
from others who escaped the industry that can attest to that fact. If you

have been abused. Let me say that again so you understand, a COMMON term
among those who have been abused. Another appropriate term is "dead man
walking." Abuse destroys the victim. Most never recover. A few experience
partial recovery. A small portion are like Dave Pelzer, able to overcome
the effects of abuse. Read "A Child Called It," "Lost Child," and "A Man
Named Dave." He represents a miniscule of those who have truly recovered
and used the experience to grow stronger.

That is what I did. Porn is dog poop and destructive to society. Just go
to your local university and check out the psychologhy journals on
sexuality. The studies all show that pornography leads to destructive
behavior, both self-destructive and destructive to those they come into
contact with.

My, my, no self-esteme problem on your end, obviously. However, I
categorically disagree with your OPINION here. Narrow minded people did not
accomplish those things. It took hundreds and thousands, even millions of
broad-minded people working together to move opinion, despite disagreement
on some aspects of their "cause" to change thoughts and morals. Those people
worked together through consensus building, not through insults and
polarization. In fact if you look at how societal change is implemented it
is by "moving the middle," something that is almost never accomplished by
the extreme and radical fringe. One person never accomplishes societal
change alone. It takes many people, working together. That implies that
their will be some honest disagreement, some compromise, and some
willingness to accept the other person's perspective, i.e. broadmindedness
If you look seriously at how opinion is really changed iand molded, it is
done in small increments. Finding points of agreement and exploiting them.
Look at how it is done in politics. The current American conservative
movement is a great example. Conservatism in America has not grown by
alienating those with whom you have a level of agreement. It was
accomplished over time, by finding common points of agreement, and then
showing how those points of agreement logically lead to the next step for
understanding and agreement.
Your methods polarize. Your posts scream that either you must agree in full
or you're the enemy, never a good tactic for convincing anyone the validity
of your opinions. Take up any good text in public relations and public
persuasion. Your methods are generally considered to be an anathema. I've
been in the public realtions business a long time, and I have never seen
your methods bring about real change or persuation.
Your tactics alienate even those with whom you might be able to find some
level of agreement (like me, for example) Take a look through the responses
to your posts. Many who might be willing to accept some of the things you
have said can't hear the good things you say because of the angry, abusive
rhetoric you use. That's right, abusive. You are still a verbal abuser and
use bullying rhetorical tactics, you've just changed who you are abusing and
why, in my opinion. It may be all you know. It may be you have a need to
abuse and have found a cause you feel justifies your being verbally abusive.
As far as your communications strategies go, however, I would bet that not
one mind has been changed in your favor by your posts here. But many, many
minds have been solidified against you, even those who may have cause to
agree with you on some issues. Can you realistically say that your
communications tactics here on this group have had your desired effect?
But, hey, you are certainly free to disregard this advice. (and that is all
it is, my advice to you, my opinion) You asked for ways to improve your
communications and I offered my observations based on your posts. Your
tactics, in my opinion, are counterproductive to your desired outcome of
improving you communications, raising consciousness on this issue, and
changing opinion. I offered a way for you to improve. Please disregard all I
say, if that is your inclination. If you prefer, continue along the lines
you have in this group and the results will be just as you have seen to

See, we can find an area on which we agree. You don't have to be insulting
or demeaning. Build on that. I would change the word "women" above, to the
word "people", all people, even those you disagree with. I would add, that
being a man comes from living up to the committments you make, accepting
responsibility and nuturing and protecting those that you love and those
that need love and protection. I've got 24 years of a very loving marriage
and it gets better every day. I am raising two beautiful young girls and
want only the best for them and sacrifice to provide it. That is the kind of
thing you need to build on if you wish to change minds. That is how you
change the world. If you polarize and alienate, you lose all you've got to
build on.

I am just fascinated with language and a phrase like narrow mind is
particularly interesting to me. My comment was really more about definitions
than anything to do with the topic of this thread. So having said that...
As far as "focused" goes -- if you are focused on dog poo, you had better be
pretty darn creative and for that matter "narrow minded" in your ideals, to
make something noteworthy of it.
Sorry but I really do think "narrow minded" is the correct phrase --
particularly when it comes to peoples life's work (which is what makes them
stand out). When it comes to that work, great historical figures or even
great every-day people tend to have a set of standards that they will
unflinchingly stick to. Yes, they may freely observe everything else, it
would probably be unwise not to, but until something else comes along that
they believe supercedes that standard they'll stick to it. Anything that
they observe falling outside of that narrow canyon of a standard in their
mind is left alone.
I will proudly (with a devilish smirk) claim to be "narrow minded" --
doesn't mean that I am intolerant, unobservant, thoughtless or without
compassion. Plus, when I tell people that it tends to spark some really
interesting conversation.

Pick any great designer -- Macintosh, Cassandre, Lowey, Eames, Rand -- to
name just a few dead ones. If you could talk with them about their life's
work you would probably be shocked at their "narrow mindedness". Their work
clearly reflects a narrow standard of what they would find to be "good
design". Because of their narrow mindedness with regard to what they
produced -- the world of design and indeed the world around us has been
changed forever, for good, or for bad. I would hardly put myself anywhere
near their class, but recently I have been accused of needing a dose of
humility -- because when it comes to design I tend to have extremely strong
opinions! I'd like to think that's part of what makes me valuable to my
clients.
I am anti-porn myself. But I do believe strongly that a careful study of
human anatomy (that means "figure drawing" classes) can be extremely
valuable for anyone pursuing a career in design. Some people would probably
classify nude models as porn -- where do you draw the line?

In the dictionary under narrow it reads "Lacking flexibility; rigid: narrow
opinions". Maybe you've been reading a different Paul Rand than I have --
the one I've been reading fits that pretty close -- dogmatic to the enth
degree. I think it's beautiful and I love his work, but I wouldn't want to
work under the guy.

What's the big difference in seeing your nude partner, some nude
people on a beach, a nude model, some people f*ing on tv? Essentially

Yes, people do tend to get narrow-minded, but if they've reached that stage
after evaluating all possible perspectives, then it changes definition and
moved into what is called "clear focus". I may be really bending towards an
impression to make a point here but the way I see it is like this...
Take a guy with a camera with a zoom lens. He looks throught the viewfinder
and what he sees, he believes. That is narrow-minded. On the other hand,
take a guy who sees the world with a wide-angle lens, selects what he finds
interesting and then changes lens to a zoom and focusses on what he
considers important. That is being focussed.
Now, in retrospect, I don't believe you've taken the time and the initiative
to view the world as it is. Agreed, we're surrounded by a lot of sickos, but
that doesn't give us the moral pright to brand everyone as a pervert. In
fact, most aren't. C'mon, what is porn? It's just watching stuff on-screen
that you would have had to make a trip to the neighborhood brothel for a few
decades back. It is a manifestation of the oldest profession, coming a very
close second to politics. So...
- Admit that it exists
- People who watch it aren't necessarily perverts
- A large portion of the people who watch it are regular people with normal
lives
- They are not hurting/abusing/deceiving anybody else
- It is legal, or else ther would have been legislation against it
To take a blanket opinion of the issue reminds me of a joke that I read
once...

If you KNEW for a fact that some model was being abused right before the
filming then maybe you should go and save her/him. Turning off the vcr doesn't

That's not such a bad idea IMO.
They should have some "not abused" sticker like the ones on persian
carpets that say "no childlabor".

I've seen a heroin hooker on the winterstreets.
But I've also seen a tv program in which a lot of succesfull
pornactors (m/w) were interviewed. They all were looked down at by
society. Even with their $300.000 car under their but.
They looked much like a successfull artist by me. Spit against by 80%
of society. But still needed and (sometimes) respected by the rest.
