I have a chat room made in Java that I was hoping all graphic artists
illustrators and 3D modeler would join. I have it only for that reason. For
all of you to come together and discuss your gripes about how people treat
graphic artist and how we can come together and come up with a plan or
something to get respect. Also if you want to discuss programs such as
PhotoShop, Quark, 3Dstudio or any other graphic program you are welcome to
use it. I have had it for about a month and nobody really seems interested.
All im trying to do is let graphic artist come together in one place to
discuss. Thanks for caring.

Hi!
I am new here, and i was wondering as a college student majoring in graphic
design does anyone have any helpful insight on how to succed in the career?
I haven't really started any of the actual computer graphics classes, but i
plan to next quarter. What kind of computer do you recommend?
Thanks!

These days it doesn't matter so much so long as you learn the programs
that are out there. The spotlight is mostly geared towards the Internet,
and to land a job you're going to need to know a lot more than just
creating pages. Personally though, I find PCs to be cheaper in the long
run, buying peripherals for them is easier than finding the same for a
Mac. It seems like most of the Mac stuff can only be found through
catalog compnies, which is OK except when you want to go in a store and
buy right away. To actually succeed takes a lot of work and plenty of
contacts.
