Okay, I will take this survey, but I must say that it is very difficult
to pinpoint "one" of anything. Especially when it comes to movies and
music. I have a myriad of tastes, but I will try my best. :)

current bands of the '90's(scratching head and going ACK!) LIVE is very

80's: Duran Duran and Depeche Mode

Love" by Bryan Ferry

"Return of the Jedi", "The Good Earth" (1930's movie), "Gone with the
Wind"

>Favorite Hobbies : crafts, singing and acting in theater

>Favorite Sport : Football (NFL)

>Favorite Magazine : don't really have a favorite, I read many!

>Favorite TV Show : "ER", "That 70's Show"

from the late 30's to 40's (i.e. Rita Hayworth in "Gilda" or Katherine
Hepburn in "The Philadelphia Story"
>
>What did you used to wear in the 1970s or 80's : Jeans and t-shirts
with flannel lumberjack shirts (BEFORE grunge!!!)

>Favorite memory from back then : Senior year of high school (87), I
left home in February, moved into my best friends house, had my first
kiss, graduated, and moved to New York in August of 87. It was a very
busy, growing up period. I wouldn't have really changed anything, good
or bad about that time (an there was bad.). Learned a great deal.

>What do you miss from either the 70's or 80's : From the 70's: my
childlike innocence and dreams.

son.

was lucky that he fully recovered but I don't think I ever will.

>Which celebrity would you most like a one night stand with :

Toss up between John Cusack or George Clooney.

What a great thread! Between learning neat stuff about all you guys and
reminding me of movies/groups/songs I might have forgotten about, this is lots
of fun. So, I guess it's my turn now!

Gender : female
Age : 31
Country : USA
Hair Color / Length : Long brown
Job / School (optional) : Actor/singer/pianist, Northwestern University

Favorite Group/Band/Music of now : Not much
Favorite 1970/1980's Group : Billy Joel, Steely Dan, Eagles, Barry Manilow,
Fleetwood Mac, The Manhattan Transfer
Favorite 1970/1980's Song : Just the Way You Are, Every Breath You Take, Boys
of Summer, You're the One that I Want, True, Sailing
Favorite Movies of all time : Young Frankenstein, Singing in the Rain, When
Harry Met Sally, Sneakers
Favorite Hobbies : crossword puzzles
Favorite Sport : Comedy Sportz
Favorite Magazine : Games Magazine
Favorite TV Show : Sports Night, The Practice, Law and Order
Favorite Clothing Style : Classic (a la Audrey Hepburn)

What did you used to wear in the 1970s or 80's : Well, plaid, obviously in the
70s, but when we hit the 80s it was argyle, Izods, knickers, penny loafers,
jeans.... oh gosh, just look at the Preppy Handbook!
Favorite memory from back then : going on vacations with my family
What do you miss from either the 70's or 80's : going on vacations with my
family, good music on the radio

What was the greatest and happiest day of your life : While I am generally a
very happy person, I don't think I have an all-time happiest day yet.
What was the most scariest day of your life : The day I found out my father
was seriously ill, April 25, 1997
What do you regret most about your life so far : fortunately, nothing too
serious
Do you have any children : not yet
Do you have any pets : no (can't wait until I have the schedule for a dog
again, though)

Wacky / Fun questions section :

1. What would you do if you came face to face with an alien : Don't have the
foggiest idea!
2. What would you do if you came face to face with a evil ghost : Tell it a
joke to get it to lighten up and become a nice friendly ghost
3. What would you do FIRST if you just won a million : pay off my parents'
house, then follow John G's lead by paying off my mortgage and investing
wisely!

If you drive did you pass your test first time : sure did! Although I didn't
get IN to take the test the first time around. My 16th birthday was the Friday
of Labor Day weekend and the DMV decided they wanted to go home early and
wouldn't let me come in to take the driving part!
Which celebrity would you most like a one night stand with : Paul Rudd
(Clueless)
What is the most romantic thing ever done for you : Man, it's been so long, I
can't even remember!
Anything you wish to rant and rave about : Not right now, but I'm sure I'll
think of something. I have learned in the last few years, though, to seriously
weigh what things are big enough to get really upset over, and fortunately
because of that, they've grown fewer and fewer in number. I'm sure it's made
me a healthier person, too.

No, actually I was born and raised in California. Back around 1980 they
had a big marketing push for Ale-8 (I suppose it's the same--a bit like
Mountain Dew or Mello Yello and Ginger Ale?) where they advertised it as
the "Soft Drink Of Tomorrow", complete with New Wave dancers in garbage
bad dresses and all (very impressionable on a 10-year-old!). It was
around for about a year and then vanished out there. It's still available
in Kentucky? Methinks I may have to make a trip north and load up the
truck with crates of the stuff... :)

Thanks!

Maybe you can win a million of Jennifer Love Hewitt's breasts and have a one
night stand with a pair of pies. That sounds a bit more feasible....

Preferably Cream Pie.

I'm glad to see I am not alone in the belief that "Ulysses" is not the
#1 novel of the century. I remember seeing the list in the newspaper
and was livid, to say the least.

Nope, though they did do CCR's Bad Moon Rising & the Beatles' Back in the
USSR -- good choices. Also some Black Sabbath song that I never would've
recognized ... other than Paranoid & Iron Man, I've never paid any attention
to those guys.

Wow, what a great thread! I first saw it when there were four posts in
it, and it was late at night, so I said I'd look at it the next day. I
didn't get back for three days, and by then, the thread contained over
fifty posts! Gotta keep up on these things! Anyway, I had to have the
time to read the entire thread before I could answer, so that's why it
took me so long . . . if anyone cares. ;-)

Thanks! From A Star is Born, up until the late 80s, I bought all her
new stuff, but I've gotten away from her. Great voice and emotion.
And her Ave Maria (I've been thinking a lot of Christmas lately, as you
can see!) is fantastic.

I'm a glutton for punishment though - I try to reach the same notes.
My mother cries from emotion . . . the rest of the family just cries!
:-)

BTW, YOU have good taste TOO!

How cool! And you know what? It bothers me too when I see kids who
look like their pants are falling down!!!!

Goo-goo dolls - I love their lyrics, and their tunes, playing, and
singing show much talent. South Park - Kyle is the cutest thing!!!!
NHL Hockey, I've been a fan of a lot of teams, but have been with the
L.A. Kings for the last ten years - especially Luc Robitaille. How
about your opinion/likes on all those counts?

I'm originally from Buffalo, so I've been a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls for
years! Their lyrics are the best, and I love Johnny's voice. Favorite songs
are Only One and definitely Iris, even though it *did* get a bit over played
:) And I looooooove Kyle from South Park! He's my favorite!! Wait,
no....Kenny is my favorite..then again, Stan is pretty cute too....ehhhh....
I am (of course) a Sabres fan (yeah yeah, abuse me, I don't care, I've heard
it all after the Bills super bowls) and I also root for Tampa Bay and the
Sharks.

Despite the fact that the Sabres aren't a lot of fun to watch this
year, I like 'em. They are my third fav team. There are a few egos on
that team, but . . . there's something about 'em that I like. Two
years ago, I predicted they would go for the cup, and everyone thought
I'd been sniffing something I wasn't supposed to. lol!!!! I guess I
showed them, huh? :-)

I've been saying that for the last 3 years. No one belived me. Of course
the *%&$^@ had to wait until the year I moved to *(%&$^%@ Norway to go for
the cup. Grrrr. hehehe....And the irony of facing a Dallas team wasn't

Nope, no satellite dish yet. I have to rely on the internet for my sports
scores :P Thank god for that at least!!!

"Dolphins an' eskimos...it's all a bunch of tree lovin hippy crap..."
hehe
They subtitle South Park in Norwegian here. I've learned LOTS of new
phrases! :)

I wasn't going to answer again, 'cuz the group's gonna kick me out, but
my husband and I couldn't resist. We were imagining Eric Cartman in
Norweigian, and laughing our butt's off, until we realized you said it
was subtitled. Glad you can enjoy some of the "comforts" where you
are. ;-) It's great that you're learning so much too! LOL

My favorite Cartman has to be when Shelly babysits. His rappin' is so
cute, and the voice sound effects blow me away. "Wicky-wicky-woo!
Wicky-wicky-woo!" The one where he plays Jesus in the Easter pageant
etc. is super too.

Hehhee, I'd actually love to hear South Park in Norwegian, but they'd screw
it up anyway, they can't even get the subtitles right. Actually, that's
part of the fun....as if the episode wasn't hilarious enough, the screw ups
on the subtites are just as fun. =)
Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of Norwegians get the jokes, a lot of
them have to do with American celebs and humor. (I don't think anyone knows
who Tina Yothers or Kathy Lee Gifford is)
My favorite epsiode (if you're not counting the original Christmas short
clip) will always be the Stan clone episode... "Are you looking at my head
gear?" hehehehe

:) Off to go listen to mulitiple mp3s by Savoy...it's the new band with
Aha guitarist Pål Waaktaar.......Scary!

Tam (Dammit, why don't they have dill pickles in Norway??) L
