Originally there were the p-mint types and the five flavors, right?
Then we went into the other types. Tropical fruit etc. I remember the
candy cane kind at Christmas. Yum-yum! Now they have the Creme
Savers, which I'm addicted to!!
My mom always seemed to carry the peppermint ones, but they seemed (and
still do seem) too dry for my tongue. Yucky! The regular orange and
cherry were my favs until the strawberry creme savers.
Any Life Savers memories out there?

Remember the ad with Henry Fonda? How about the one with Suzanne Somers and
her father?
I remember getting Lifesavers a lot over the years. It seems that I was about
ten before I even realized they came in other flavors besides five-flavored,
since that one was the most heavily marketed toward kids...

We officially crown Dixon: King of Commercial Trivia!!
{Placing crown on Sir Dixon's bowed head . . . Gee, it looks a lot
like the Imperial margarine crown!}

How about the one with the father and his depressed son walking out of
the ice rink. The son was upset because he "...let the puck get by him,
and lost the hockey game." That commercial was so well known that an
episode of Happy Days did a joke based on it.
But who remembers another, animated commercial for Life Savers from the
earlier '70s. This was a cartoon of a sort of factory that made the
candy and stacked it into the roll package. The soundtrack was an
a capella song of:
(unison) "Life Savers, Life Savers fun to eat, 22 flavors can't be beat
(group sings) "Hey, Life Savers!"
(unison) "Life Savers, Life Savers <something> rolls, 22 flavors, 22
holes."
(group sings) "Hey, Life Savers!"
(unison) "Oh Life Savers."
