Assunta Ng of Northwest Asian Weekly reported that Howard Shi-tse Hsy,
a retired Boeing engineer arrested in Taiwan in August, was bailed out
of jail on September 30. Now Hsy is free to go anywhere in Taiwan but
he is not allowed to leave, pending investigations.

http://www.nwasianweekly.com/editorial/hsy40.htm

Some outlines:
* Hsy's bail amount is NT$100,000, about US$3,000, is a
minimal number according to his lawyer Wen Chen, also
his friend.
* Northwest Asian Weekly interviewed Hsy by telephone.
Hsy did not deny he collected information for
Yeh Yu-chen, though Hsy insisted all the information he
provided were in public domain on the Internet.
* Hsy insisted he did not know he was collecting information
for China. Hsy said, ".... It was much later that Yeh
told me that he was selling the information to China."
Hsy said he wasn't told until after he handed over the
information. Hsy also said, "He (Yeh) repeatedly asked
me for classified information. I told him I couldn't get
it. I could only get general information."
* A friend of Hsy's family believed Hsy was just one of the
Taiwanese and Chinese American scientists wooed by the
communist country. She said (the publication did not
identify her), "China has been actively recruiting retired
Chinese American scientists to work for China directly or
indirectly."

I knew it! The minute I saw this it seemed reasonable the information
Yeh gathered is not secret. He was doing thing any good'ol NED
"funding receipent" would do - research. Here's my initial comment re
so-called hacked government secret:

Of course! Now Hsy told you how China collect classified information
from Chinese American scientist. "China has been actively recruiting

retired Chinese American scientists to work for China directly or

indirectly". Hsy is testifying against Yeh and Beijing.

If you gonna believe Hsy's defense of hisself, you gonna believe his
description of Chicom and Chinese agents stealing classified info.
Hehe.

On March 5, 2005, Mike Carter of Seattle Times reported that a former
Boeing engineer and Bellevue Taiwanese community activist was charged
in federal court for helping to obtain sensitive military night-vision
technology to pass to China. The felony charge alleged 68-year-old
Howard Hsy and three other "unnamed co-conspirators" in Seattle area
worked with a co-conspirator in Taiwan, identified as Yeh Yu-chen, to
ship the technology and violate the Arms Export Control Act.

Hsy and Yeh was arrested in 2003 in Taiwan by government officials.
According to the Seattle Times article, in 2004 Yeh was charged with
espionage by Taiwan and he fled to mainland China with his family in
November. Hsy was charged with a less-serious offense and put under
house arrest ever since.

Here're a ton of information on F-16 night flight upgrade, so it can
fly half blind and not crash (as if it won't crash on it's own
anyways.)

Smells like another Wen Ho Lee.

then charles liu volunteer to tell Yeh to come back to Taiwan, not
fleeing to mainland China with his family. There's nothing to flee for
acording to charles!

And then Yeh can write a book, "My country and Charles liu's country
vs. Hsy".
