My special Christmas present "to myself" is to hire a helicopter to
take me to the summit of Moana Loa.
There I take a long, lingering look at the spectacular view of
paradise while I click into my cross-country skis. I do a mini-stretch
to limber and loosen my muscles. Then I take a deep breath and slowly
start the descent. It is a moment to remember.
