PXL 2000 - cult toy camera

Hello all,

has anyone else had any luck trying to locate a Fisher Price PXL 2000 toy
camera? This is a camera that records "impressionist" black and white
movies and terrible quality sound onto audio cassettes, and was used to
make the film "Another Girl, Another Planet". I have been looking in the UK
to no avail. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate an e-mail message.

Perhaps Toys R Us has them still (my brother picked one up from
there several years ago and filmed just about every damned thing he did)..
maybe someone could mail one out there if TRU still has them...

Actually, I was able to pick up a couple of them directly from Fisher Price. I
bought them for $45 as "reconditioned units" (that means they were returned as
defective originally and then fixed.). Bad news however: this was about three
years ago and the chance that Fisher Price has any left is slim to none. But it
wouldn't hurt to try.
The other option is to check out "Toy Shop Monthly" (a collectors rag filled
with indexed avsertising for sellers of items just like the PXL 2000). If they
don't have it for sale, at least it'll give you contact with lots of collector
types that will know how and where to get it.

Thanks for your replies. I'm off to a collector's fair tomorrow in the hope
that I'll find one... there are dealers from the US coming, so I might get
lucky.
