Subject: Ice-cream seller in Jacques Tati's Hulot
Does anybody know something about the white stuff in the movie 'Les
Vacances de Monsieur Hulot' from Jacques Tati (1953)?

The ice-cream seller has a hook on a side of his stand.
A white stuff hangs on the hook.
It looks possibly thus like dough and it slowly stretches in the length.
Always briefly before it touches the ground, the ice-cream seller
catches it and hangs it again on the hook.
Does somebody know what this is for what this is good?
