Announcing THE LAST ROCKYCON....Phoenix, AZ, Fall 2012!

fraction of the overall ROCKY community with this message! Though of
course I'll be posting it all over the NG, LJ, Facebook, Myspace,
Twitter et al as well, )

Hello to all our friends in the international ROCKY HORROR community!

Matteo here, "the AZRocky Guy", founder/producer of the COME AS YOU
ARE cast and formerly producer and distant co-founder of the legendary
BROADWAY BOUND & GAGGED cast (R.I.P.)

I'm here to formally announce our plan, goal and intention for the
Phoenix, AZ area to host its first ever ROCKY HORROR CONVENTION,
sometime in the fall of the year 2012!

Due to the pending and expected end of the world shortly thereafter,
we feel we can call it THE LAST ROCKYCON with some impunity--and with
the disclaimer that should the world NOT, in fact, end on December 21,
2012 (as many interpret the Mayan Calendar to predict), anyone who
wishes to host the first Con of 2013 can rub it in our faces and call
it THE ROCKYCON AFTER TOMORROW. (So if you're planning a 2013 Con,
speak up now!)

Guests and events are still a long way away, but I can offer my
assurance I plan to combine traditional as well as one-of-a-kind
events, and hopefully blend in the best aspects of all the cons that
have come before while adding our own fresh new spin.

Similarly, specific date and location are yet to be determined, but
look at probably the last weekend in September or the first weekend in
October of that year; and we are zeroing in on Mill Avenue in Tempe,
Phoenix's college-town suburb (home of ASU), as the probable location,
given its proximity to a large number of hotels, restaurants, shops,
and attractionsas well as Sky Harbor Airport.

I'm putting an appeal out NOW to any of you who have hosted or helped
run a ROCKY con (or ANY con!) in the past: any advice you can offer
will be helpful, since this IS our first time! (So be gentle!)

And it goes without saying that I hope I see each of you there along
with your castmates and audience members and whomever else. Come on
folks, let's party like it's....2012!
