Of all the deaths this year, this one has me on the verge of tears. Fred
Berry's career was always about making people smile. Plain and simple. The
world has lost something that was dedicated to making it a happier place to be.
Hay hay hay :-(

That sucks, I used to watch Whats Happening a lot when I was a kid. :(
RIP
Bill
PS Did'nt Dwayne say "Hay hay hay"?
Nope, that was Rerun.
Its funny, the news item on this also mentions he worked for
hollywoodiscalling.com
interesting site.

You sure? I always thought Rerun was the heavy guy, Rog was the guy with the
glasses and the snotty sister, and Dwaye always said "Hay hay hay" when he came
into the soda shop...
Curse my swiss-cheese memory! ARRGH!
Bill
Dwayne Wayne always said it. But I remember eventually it was used as a general
purpose greeting from Rerun as well. When Fred Berry would call people at
hollywoodiscalling, he would often used that as his hello as well.
Larry.
He was supposedly most recently seen in David Spade's "Child Star" movie, and
playing himself, I think. I was glad to see when they revived his original
series in syndication during the mid-'80s, he returned as Rerun for at least
the first(?) season of "What's Happening Now!"
Dying at age 52... Damn; that is WAY too young.

Jack Elam also passed away, today, at the age of 82. He was known for
his wandering eye and "tough guy" look, and made a career in westerns.
Cheers,

No shit?!? Damn! And I just saw him in a western last night...the 1973 flick,
"Pat Garret & Billy The Kid." Eerily enough, I couldn't help but to wonder if
he was still alive now. Guess I have my answer. :-\
