Do you think this will do?
Thought the pumpkin costume would probably be unsafe. No one eats big
black hairy things ... ... ... do they?
Elf, taking a moment from trying to decide what to be for Halloween, is
startled to see a very dangerous looking spider with a fluffy tail staring
back at him from his mirror. He then realizes the fluffy tail has become
bushy as though it had been pressed into a costume before being able to
force itself back into a propper furry splendor. Still, where is the web?
All the spiders that have appeared in his home in the living rock have been
tending webs and kicking out any sign of dust or dirt. "That's it", Elf
thinks. "You can't see the web because it is kept clean so insects can't
see it."
Elf thinks that the spider must have been visiting Squirrel to have mastered
such a magnificent tail, he didn't even know spiders could grow tails.
It will do very nicely for a spooky Halloween.
Now for a costume. Elf pulls open a drawer to his dresser with some effort
and considers the perils of furniture formed by the rock itself. He is sure
that if he were to drop a rock drawer on his toe the toe would never be the
same again. Still, where else could you look out a crystal window and watch
trout feeding in their stream or see a snail on the window with its little
mouth working furiously as it tries to rasp off any bits of food.
Looking in the drawer he wonders which costume he should try on then walks
over and sits on the large fluffy pillows that make up his bed. The torch
on the wall burns brightly casting shadows in many shapes and sizes while
The Phantom Of The Opera plays from a cube shaped black onyx IPOD station.
After a while Elf rises and walks down a steep slanting tunnel in the rock
with the sound of the ocean getting louder and louder with each step. The
smooth walls of the tunnel gradually change to a rough jagged sea hewn
cavern and looking out he can see the ocean waves as they rise up and smash
against the cliff with some of the water rushing back and forth over the far
end of the cave. In little basins of rock along part of the cave wall
anemones wave their tentacles looking for their prey. The water is strong
enough as it splashes in and out to keep the tidal pools fresh and full but
not wash away the little animals. Between the tidal pools and where Elf
stands some seals rest on the rocky floor staring quietly at him. Rather
than disturb the animals he walks back to his home and tries on a cloak.
His body disappears where ever the cloak covers it which gives him an idea.
Elf quickly dresses in riding clothes as though ready for a fox hunt and
throws the quilt over his head.
Now if he can just find a pumpkin, a headless horseman.

A black kitty? Oh, you mean a spider? No don't think so.
I had a black cat once. She was so gentle she would perch on my shoulder
without using any claw. Too bad she was spayed. A kitten or two like her
would have been nice.
Rightttt... what about a headless horse?

Elf is not sure how to steer a headless horse but decides to search and see
if such an animal exists.
He heads out across the Meadow looking in many corners hidden in groves of
lollipop trees and finds some meringue pie bushes next to the peppermint
candy cane thicket. He wonders if Squirrel would be interested in any of
these or if she would prefer the walnut trees?
He starts over to the nut trees but runs into something sticky like fly
paper really slowing him to a foot an hour. He struggles along until he
realizes it is the dread time waster monsta that follows upgrading systems.
The journey should take one night and ends up taking several before the
internet is once again available. Once he realizes what is happening Elf
pulls his tickle sword and tickles the monsta into uncontrollable laughter.
Still the new Windows 7 is so much more enjoyable than Vista or XP that it
is worth it. Elf just hopes Squirrel is not despairing thinking she is
alone in the Meadow.

As long as you don't go swimming, you should be fine. (Only thing I can
think of is parrotfish going om nom nom on sea urchins...)

Poor Squirrel ending up as part of a tropical beach would not be good. They
do make beautiful black sand and white sand beaches from munching on coral
though.
Hey, Squirrel, where you going?
