Assistance Project, Pension Action Center, Gerontology Institute UMA
Boston where she is a pension counselor, not an attorney. Renee has

BuddyWakefield is the two-time Individual World Poetry Slam Champion
featured on NPR, the BBC, HBOs Def Poetry Jam, and most recently
signed to Ani DiFrancos Righteous Babe Records.
 ~ MICHAEL ROBERTS: THE HOPEMEAT
Michael Roberts' poetry reads like a primer on dream logic, the
strange and universal order functioning in kind with (or in spite of)
waking experience. For Roberts', poetry is not an end but the only
possible means-the first organizing principal-by which the world is
savored or survived. Take his book into the unknown: into the
unpinned regions of the map, the unpacked rooms of the heart.

POETRY SUPER HIGHWAY BOOKSTORE
Featured this week in the Poetry Resource Books section of the PSH
 Bookstore:
THE BLACK AUTOMATON by DOUGLAS KEARNEY
"First, you have to see Douglas Kearney's visual poems, which
cheekily diagram cultural memes as if they were parts of speech (as
they are). The Black Automaton has its share of sharp, tender lyrics,
too... these exploit the political possibilities of puns and the way
meanings hinge on inexact resemblance. Kearney's poems tweak and
skewer pop culture and literary sources from Paul Laurence Dunbar to
 T. S. Eliot to traditional ballads and blues... Kearney's work turns
poetic and cultural conventions disquietingly inside out."
    - CATHERINE WAGNER
From ambivalent animals thriving after Katrina to party chants
echoing in a burning city, The Black Automaton troubles rubble,
cobbling a kind of life. In this collection, bodies at risk seek
renewal through violence and fertility, history and myth, flesh and
 radios.
Paperback, 72 Pages, Published by Fence, (December, 2009)
