The custom color palette is driving me crazy. When I choose a graphic
object with a pre-set color, and then choose the color of my choice from the
custom chart and click OK. The screen shows the object actually changes to
the color that I want, but the graphic prints a totally different color. I
asked for purple and it printed like turquoise. It looks purple on the
screen. How am I supposed to get the color that I want?
your help is most appreciated. The funny thing about this is that I am
actually duplicating this project and I am not getting the original results.
Please reply hrc...@att.net if you can lend some advice.

I think it's the printer. I tried to print graphics with purple as the
pre-set color in it, not trying to change the color in any way and all the
purple parts of the graphics were printed blue. I will put in a call to
minolta. if anyone has a take on this, let me know. T.Y.

Its hard to say without seeing the exact colours, but its possible you have
your document set up in RGB colour. You need it in CMYK for printing.

If any of the colours are out of range, they will appear differently. A
purple could well appear as blue.

Or maybe one of the ink colours ran out on the printer. if you printed it
correctly before from the same doc, it must be the printer.

I spoke to minolta as well as receiving a reply from sierra software.
minolta asked what format the driver should be in, Sierra said i don't know
what he's talking about (of course). I then called the inside salesman that
helped me bef I purchased. He gave me a couple of suggestions but when I
ask to print, go into settings and choose minolta's q-print color management
system. it seems that printer is using windows color management system.
When I print with another software, MG Photo Suites II (I think), I get my
purples. Have not had a chance to try changing the settings yet as this all
happened during work hours yesterday. I do like the printer. I am putting
out BEAUTIFUL brochures now and I get "wows". When I finish with a current
order, I will try scanning my photos and printing right on cards as to put
out a cheaper card.

I got the answer. minolta guy said that there is color matching in both
printer and windows printer artist. i have to "disable" printer color
matching on the printer. i do this by going to print set up, options,
features, under "quick color config" choose diable printer color matching.
I GOT PURPLE BABY!!!!! unfortunately he did not make it sounds so easy,
maybe he didn't know that it would be that easy. i think he said something
about downloading and saving program to my desktop. oy.
