Thanks
Brilliant thanks for the info
To do it using free stuff I'd recomend
To copy and remove any copy protection (it'll make a DVD copy on your hard
disc) I use DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/)
[I prefer DVD shrink but it is hard to find a copy, and normally only
available via P2P software - look here if interested
http://dvd-shrink.download11.com/ }
And then auto gordian knot from http://www.autogk.me.uk/ to convert to divx.
Before people shout it is probably legal in the UK to make a backup of your
DVD for your own personal use - but you decide what you want to do.

Can you remove the copy protection on VHS videos to make backup copies
of films to DVD ?
or do you have to buy s/ware/hardware to do this ???
I do not know if it is legal to do above ?
As I have a few video films (kids especially) for grandchildren
Cheers

If you're copying to a computer first, then not all SW is bothered
about macrovision. Bizzarely enough Windows Movie Maker is happy to
copy macrovision protected content to my HDD whereas other programmes
aren't.
