Email Message sent to HMRC: 22/Feb/2013

I am being charged for has been sent from Japan

The item is a Lacie hard disk purchased from Ebuyer in the UK and was subject to UK sales Vat. I gave the item to my friend as a gift last year in the UK and she took it back to Japan. It has developed a fault and I asked her to send it back to me.

What do I need to do to release it from Parcelforce. I am claiming JSA and cannot afford £58.48 import Vat and Clearence fee.

Has anyone got and suggestions?
