We were supposed to be receiving a package last week but after checking
with the shipper, we learned that the package was returned to them due to
"undeliverable" reason. It turned out that the item was shipped with a
stupid option called "SMARTPOST", in which the package was shipped through
Fedex but got delivered by the local US Postal Service, a well-known most
incompetent and unreliable service in the nation! So, now Fedex passes the
bug along to USPS claiming it is not responsible for the package and set us
into a wild goose chase for our package!

So, please be warned, FedEx has now lowered themselves to the same low-
quality, incompetent, unreliable, irresponsible carrier as the notorious US
Postal Service!

Your rant and warning are useless without knowing why the package was
"undeliverable".

Absent that information; and having many years of experience with both
FedEx and the USPS, finding them to be none of the things you accuse
them of; I'm going to assume that the problem lies either with the
shipper or the recipient.

So....can you enlighten me?

In article <Xns9CE54EF54...@69.16.185.252>,

I've received a few packages handled like this where the label used by
the parcel company had the address of the post office where I pick up my
mail. This seemed to work okay. It was DHL and, I think, UPS.

Last September was my first and last encounter with STUPIDPOST.
The package shipped from Los Angeles and arrived in Sacramento that
night where it was handed off to USPS. Sacramento is still a 3 hour
drive away, but USPS took 7 days to cover the distance. Finding mail
delivery that slow would require looking back before the 1880s when mail
was carried in a stagecoach drawn by a horse that might get eaten by a
bear.

BigDog1 has displayed his/her ignorance in a profound way.

He's obviously miseed the point in the orginal post.

I myself was screwed over by this so-called "SmartPost" by FedEx. It's a
desperate attempt by the USPS to stay in the business of delivery, one
that it has failed to earn the trust from the consumers. Now, combined
greed-based cost-saving failure-bound strategy so proudly adopted by
FedEx, the consumers will soon find FedEx to sink in the same hole USPS
has fallen into.

Those idiots at USPS can't seem to deliver any thing that is larger than
the standard envelope. So, now with the dumb thing called "SmartPost",
USPS has found itself in a higher level of INCOMPETENCE!

What ever happened to the so-called "excellence in service" in this
country??

US Postal Service is the problem here. What in it for Fedex is cost
saving. With fuel cost being an increasing burdern, Fedex has been doing
lots of skimming. The problem here has root at two fundamental issues:
greed and incompentence. On one hand we have greed (all for profits by
Fedex) and on the other hand, we have utter incompetence by USPS.

USPS seems to act more like a giant toilet, where the stuff waiting to
be flused down seem to accumulate too long in the organization. That's
why USPS is so stinky.

It's time we abolish those lazy, incompetent, and losers at USPS.
