Sounds like they found themselves a real good, real stupid target.
Kudos to them! They need to go after more retards like that, scare
the kiddies into buying the shit like they ought to be. Pirating
ought not to be something so easy that any idiot with a computer can
do, it should be something complicated enough that your average Joe
Idiot won't want to do and would rather just pay for the convenience
of buying the shit in the store like he ought to.
After all, piracy just doesn't work if *EVERYBODY* is doing it. Piracy
is also *NOT* about sharing...that's called being a PUSSY...not a
pirate. Piracy is about *TAKING*, it's about leaching off someone's
bandwidth and then fuckin over all the other users by settin yer
upload at less than a 1K...yeah that's what I'm talkin about. Let the
lessers and retards do the seeding, let them get caught doing it, let
them go to jail because they're too damn stupid to figure out how to
get out of such charges, let *THEM* pay for *MY* free movie.

Making a copy of a movie is illegal. But uploading it to the internet should
also be illegal. It's fucked up his friend didn't get sent to jail as well.
If I was him I would dump that asshole friend.

Another way of going is a way I saw work in the ITVplayer. You stream the
movie for free, but have commercial breakes say every 15 or 20 minutes. Then
the streaming will be payed for just like on TV. And the movie can be seen
for free. I heard that youtube was going to do this, but I have not seen
anything like this there yet.

LOL, you mean you're actually ASSuming that it's even real? *snicker*
The MPAA and the RIAA aren't stupid, and they frequently set fake case
precedence by constructing imaginary cases, where the people they're
"suing" are basically getting a rather large kick back under the table
to ride the wave, take a dive, and tell some scary stories to the news
media.
Or in other situations they go after people who are exceptionally
stupid, or people who can be effectively black mailed into
submitting...like threatening a college flunkie with expulsion if they
don't play along.
You *NEVER* hear about them going after anyone like me, they would
never be stupid enough to risk their precious DMCA on a case like
that. One wrong case and they'll be ripped apart in so many different
directions they'll never recover from it. They have to be incredibly
selective and careful about who they get into a court room, cause the
last thing they want is positive news stories about pirating and
negative case precedence that works against their intentions...which
are largely just scare tactics...good ones I might add.
As a *TRUE* data pirate I fully support both the MPAA and the RIAA and
I think they ought to do more to scare away the kiddies from pirating.
Simply put...pirating doesn't work if everybody is doing it. And
*REAL* data pirating is not about ~sharing~ like some fuckin circle
jerk of a Care Bear inspired online orgy.
Fuck yer file sharing! If yer not straight ripping the VOB files off
a NetFlix rental then you really don't know what the fuck yer doing
and you've no right at all to even try and present yourself as a data
pirate.
Compare the treatment Yates got, six months in prison, to that of
former Columbia Pictures CEO David Begelman. For embezzling $10,000
from Cliff Robertson, he ended up convicted and received a sentence of
community service. For his other thefts from clients and employers,
totaling in the the millions, no charges at all.
California is broke now because of the tens of billions of dollars it
overspent on prisons (and $100,000 a year prison guard salaries), in
large part the end result of handing out long prison terms to non-
violent "three strikes" offenders. The prison sentence Yates got in
Federal court was for publicity purposes only. The Feds are even more
broke than California is but, as many people say, the Feds can print
money to make up the cash shortfall.
Nameless taxpayers footed the bill for Yates' prosecution (the cost
for the federal judge in this case alone, including salaries for the
judge and support staff and fancy office space is at least $750,000 a
year) and Yates' incarceration. All for a crummy movie no one wanted
to watch. What a bad joke, in part courtesy of Mike Myers.

Yeah, there's tons of it. LOL Seriously, anyone whose looked really
closely at their lawsuits and the court transcripts can tell you that
the majority of them are constructed bullshit...either that or they're
just magically managing to find the dumbest fuckin retards on the
planet to sue. Take yer pick.

So you just made up the part about how people are frequently getting

I'm a realist, people are, for the most part, genuinely fucking
stupid...but if you've ever read some of those court
transcripts...yeah...nobody is *THAT* stupid...well, maybe you are.
And there's only one thing that would motivate anyone to *WANT* to act
that fucking stupid in a court room...a pay off. It's simple
logic...maybe not simple enough for a simpleton like yourself though,
eh? Should I try and dumb it on down to your level? I can break on

Could you do that for me please? I never learned how to read, so a crayon
drawing would be helpful. I mean, considering all of your hubris it
really does sound like you just made the kick-back part up, and based on
that, most likely the rest as well, so a drawing that I could more easily
digest would clear up any misunderstandings on my part.
Thanks in advance!!1!

Yates, who played no part in uploading the video onto the Internet,

>>>access to unreleased films<<< (end quote)
Yates was the target. LA Duplication and Broadcasting makes short run
pre-release DVD screeners for reviewers who are too lazy to go out to
the theatre.
THAT is where the high quality bootlegs that show up in Hong Kong and
Moscow the day after a film opens come from. THAT is where the real
pirates get their goods.
Bribe a duplication house employee to burn you off a pre-release copy
of Avatar and you can sell a copy of that copy to the Taiwan syndicate
for 5 figures - then sell another copy to the UAE syndicate for even
more.
Yates was stupid enough to do it FOR FREE. The other guy was just
collateral damage - one the MPAA was happy to nail as lagniappe.
In your particular case...I think a hefty boot straight up yer ass
might do you a bit more good than a crayon drawing. It's not going to
make you any less retarded or anything, I mean, as they say, you just
can't "fix" stupid, but it'll sure make me feel a whole lot better!
^__^
Yes, just keep repeating it.
If other people point out actual reasons why what you say is stupid,
you just have to say "you're stupid" back to them, and you
automatically win. That's how it works. You know it is.
Because you're too stupid to realize it isn't.
