Shortly thereafter, a radio news report stated that the suspect was in
custody, as did FOX news.
At one point - before the news conference - there was a still photo of
an Asian man on the ground, apparently being handcuffed by officers.
A lot of still photos were shown of the scene, and all of them seemed of
professional quality (based on my experience with ordinary 'newshound'
photos)
The man did not appear injured, and was in clothing that was
commensurate with the description later given by people in subsequent
interviews I watched.
Then, at the news conference, we are told the gunman is dead.
Now, the media all state 'it is unclear' how the gunman died.
I have not been in front of the TV or radio the whole time, but I
haven't seen nor heard about the photo of the Asian man since the news
conference.
Was that before or after you were flipping crack rocks in your pipe?
There were no shootings in WV.
Maybe he should repost for those who are too stupid to figure out he
meant VA. Couldn't hurt - there are a lot of libs in this NG.
Obviously I meant Virginia, and sorry for the mistake.
OR . . .
maaybe I'm just part of the cover up ;)
Probably early reports conflating the following information:
Eyewitness, shot by gunman, who refers to him being Asian.

Source of story that gunman being apprehended probably e-mail sent out by
Virginia Tech.
"fourth e-mail sent at 10:53 a.m.:
Subject: Second Shooting Reported; Police have one gunman in custody
"In addition to an earlier shooting today in West Ambler Johnston, there has
been a multiple shooting with multiple victims in Norris Hall.
"Police and EMS are on the scene.
"Police have one shooter in custody and as part of routine police procedure,
they continue to search for a second shooter.
"All people in university buildings are required to stay inside until
further notice.
"All entrances to campus are closed."

Well he looked Oriental to me.

Don't think he was wearing a black leather jacket which the witness refers
to above.

Well, we've now been told he shot himself. BBC is reporting in the face,
making ID difficult.

Probably because he was not involved.

It was one of the Evil Jooz who blew up the WTC buildings. He found out
there were some engineering students who had uncovered the smoking gun
needed to prove the Mossad conspiracy on 9/11. He needed to get to the
campus to kill them all before they posted the information to this
newsgroup.
Didn't take long for the kooks to crawl out from under their rocks.

Good analysis. Thanks.
Also, you're probably right that they still say 'oriental' in VA :)
