A CTer SAID:

>>> "Someone (maybe Ruby's roommate George Senator, maybe a mob ally) would be at Ruby's home from 8am to 10am {on Sunday, 11/24/63} to take the planned and awaited call of Karen Carlin's request for money, to establish a phone record to back up the story. Ruby's housekeeper, Elnora Pitts, would call every Sunday morning to see if he wanted her to come clean that day. While Ruby was seen by a half-dozen men outside or inside the police station waiting for Oswald from 8am to 10:30am, here is what happened when Ms. Pitts called Ruby's home after 8 am:

Voice: What do you want?
Pitts: What do I want? This is Elnora.
Voice: Yes, well, what - you need some money?
Pitts: No, I was coming to clean today.
Voice: Coming to clean?
Pitts: This is Elnora.
Voice: Well, what do you want?
Pitts: Do you want me to come today?
Voice: Well, yes, you can come, but you call me.
Pitts: That's what I am doing now...

See Contract On America, p. 181, see also Warren Commission Hearings
Vol. 13, pp. 230-231.

Pitts states he sounded strange, and asked "Is this Mr. Jack Ruby?",
and the voice said yes, but Pitts says that he didn't talk like Ruby
or sound like Ruby. And the voice did not recognize Pitts or know
about the weekly phone ritual before the cleaning, as Ruby would
have." <<<

DVP SAYS:

Now, the CTer who wrote the above message obviously thinks that it's
possible that Jack Ruby was camped out at the Dallas Police Department
waiting to kill Oswald, and therefore arranged for George Senator or a
"mob ally" to stay at his apartment on Sunday morning to answer the
phone and PRETEND TO BE RUBY!

So, per this kooky theory, evidently it was a much better idea to
allow the maid (Mrs. Pitts) to hear a Ruby imposter acting and
sounding like an idiot and a goofball over the phone, rather than to
simply not answer the phone at all or have the "imposter" quickly
perform his Ruby imitation and merely tell Pitts, "No, I don't want
you to clean today".

IOW, why wasn't the Ruby imposter EXPECTING Pitts' weekly call? Did
Ruby forget to tell the "mob ally" about this weekly call from Pitts?
(Yeah, let's pretend that's the reason why the "imposter" acted like a
blubbering fool over the phone.)

But the above sheer speculation posted by that CTer is just the kind
of junk that often substitutes for logic and common sense and EVIDENCE
in a conspiracy theorist's mind.

To avoid all of that cloak-&-dagger crap purported above, all Ruby
would have had to do (to establish his ironclad, perfectly-reasonable
excuse to have been at Western Union, near the police station, on
Sunday morning) would to have been to merely arrange the details of
the Western Union transfer with Karen Carlin on SATURDAY night, which
would have been quite doable, because we know that Ruby talked to
Carlin on Saturday and they discussed Karen needing a loan.

Why jump through unnecessary hoops on Sunday morning, via an imposter
on the phone posing as Ruby, when that call could have easily been
totally eliminated altogether?

And isn't Carlin (along with Pitts) going to KNOW that the person on
the other end of the phone isn't Jack Ruby? Obviously, they would have
known it wasn't Ruby.

Plus: If Ruby was downtown when Carlin's call came through on
Sunday....how in the world would Ruby know to send the EXACT amount of
money to Carlin ($25) that she requested when she talked to the Ruby
"imposter" on the phone? (No cell phones to carry around in those
days, of course.)

Conspiracy theories like this are so absurd, it truly defies belief
that anyone would have the courage to float them out there in the
first place. But it happens.....time and time again.
