On November 10, 1997, the former First Lady of Texas, Nellie Connally,
made an appearance at the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library in
Austin, Texas (linked above).

Mrs. Connally read to the audience the personal notes she had written
shortly after the shooting in Dallas' Dealey Plaza which ended the
life of President Kennedy and seriously wounded Nellie's husband,
Governor John Connally.

It's very interesting (even riveting) to hear Mrs. Connally read these
notes in a verbatim manner, just the way she wrote them more than
thirty years earlier.

It's also interesting to observe that Nellie's version of the events
of that terrible day in November 1963 hasn't changed one bit over a
lengthy period of time. Her 1963 notes almost perfectly match the
statements that she made in various interviews over a course of many
years following the assassination.

After reading her personal notes, Mrs. Connally answered some
questions from some of the audience members.

Nellie Connally passed away in 2006 at the age of 87.
