LOL! Da Bald Verm has hit absolute ROCK BOTTOM with this pitiful line
of enquiry.

KUTGW, Gilly!

You're [sic] ascent of Mount Cretinism is an inspiration to us

09/08/09:

=======================================

I'm guessing that Gil got this question second-hand from Jim DiEugenio
(since Jim asked that question on Black Op Radio recently).

And the answer is quite simple (although I'll fully admit right now
that I'm not 100% sure that this explanation is correct, but I'd be
willing to bet my next Disinfo check from Vince and the CIA that it
is):

The "pages" that appear on the CD-ROM of Bugliosi's book are, in fact,
real "pages" indeed....and they were then turned into digital "pages"
at some point after the book was printed.

So, via this explanation, Mr. Bugliosi would not need a computer to
proof-read any of the content that ended up on the CD-ROM, since he
would have the actual printed pages themselves that he could look at.

The reason I believe this to be the correct explanation is mainly
because the CD's pages and format and font (and everything) look
absolutely identical in every way to the 1600+ pages of the physical
hardcover book. Example below:

www.ReclaimingHistory.com/excerpts/ReclaimHistIntro.pdf

I have no idea exactly how a physical page of a book is turned into a
digital version of the content for the PDF files that comprise the CD-
ROM in "Reclaiming History" (or any other book), since I've never done
that type of work before, but I would guess that each page is (in
essence) photographed and then placed onto the CD in digital form.
(Isn't this how Mr. Bradford's site at History-Matters.com was put
together, as well as the thousands of digital "pages" we find at Mary
Ferrell's exemplary website too?)

If anyone knows exactly how a PDF file is created for the pages of a
physical book, maybe they can chime in here with more details (and
also correct my explanation of that process if it's way off base).

Tsk...tsk...tsk...another of Giltard's (DiEugenio's) salient points
shot down with common sense and simple logic. Giltard has been blown
out of the saddle so many times he has saddle burns on his crotch.

Addendum:

Another reason I'm nearly 100% sure that my explanation in my above
post is correct is because I currently have the ENTIRE book
("Reclaiming History") on my computer in PDF format (not just the CD-
ROM's content, but the hardcover book's 1,600+ pages as well--which is
an "Advance Uncorrected Proofs" version of the whole book).

So, I know for a fact that the 1,600+ pages of the physical hardcover
book were turned into a PDF computer file. It stands to reason,
therefore, that the 1,128 pages that appear on the CD-ROM also started
out as actual physical pages, too (capable of being seen, handled, and
proofed by the computer-less Mr. Bugliosi).

Hey, has anyone ever noticed that the minute Gilly is shot down in
flames he simply abandons the thread, hoping that nobody will remember
that he ever started it in the first place?

He then simply bobs up as author of a new thread of equal lameness and
repeats the process. The fellow simply has the hide of a rhinocerous,
LOL! There is no apex of hypocrisy he can't scale! :-)

I would assume that Bugliosi proofread the second volume of his book
in much the same way as the first, only the resulting PDF file was
published on a CD-ROM instead of being sent to the printer (thereby
saving a few trees). He was most likely provided with printouts by his
secretary, who incorporated his corrections into the source document
(apparently in Quark format, unless converted from some other format
at the publishing house).
