This was a notarized affidavit sworn to by Nagell on July 18, 1979,
apparently in response to a letterthe CIA had sent him eight days earlier.
At that time Nagell was seeking his CIA files under the Freedom of
Information Act, and there seemed to be a CIA "requirement" that Nagell list
any other names under which files about him might appear. After listing his
true name, date, place of birth, and two passport numbers (Others had been
deleted in the photocopy), Nagell continued:
"In the past, and among othe fictitious names, I have used and/or have
been documented with the following names and variations thereof: Ben Blum
[next name blanked out in the photocopy], Robert C. Corsa [next two names
blanked out], Alek Hidell, Aleksei Hidel, Joseph Kramer [next name blank],
Victor Nadell, Vic Nadelli, N. Nagel, Robert C. Nolan, Paul Schmedke."
Nagell was admitting that he himself had used the same alias as Oswald,
in two different variations!" A Garrison memorandum, setting down notes of
his conversations with Nagell, added: "A number of people were using the
name Hidel."
