Gordon: When Vanier says FBI.org shows rape & murder is down 90% and
it doesn't say that at all, then by his own metric of things that
means he's either a liar, a coward, or maybe both. Then when he asks
me to check the number of stars in the night sky and report back, and
I do (stating there were to many to count) he can't handle the truth
and goes into a whimsy of denial. Now here he is crawling out from
under his rock of RingWorld Stupid calling me names, lying for lying's
sake, and childishly threatening our friendship. Lucky for him his
best and only friend is a stand up guy and not some lying little
coward in denial. Ain't that right coward?

Gordon, I was in Boulder for Blake Vanier's graduation, returning home
yesterday.

Staying at Denise's (the Ex-Mrs.Stephen Vanier) at the north end of
Boulder, I had a clear view of the skies on Saturday night, from South
(downtown Boulder) to North (toward Lyons), looking West toward the
Flatirons, the eastern edge of the Rockies.

The stars were shining in their glory! Yes, I could see thousands upon
thousands of them (too many to count), even with the glow of the city
lights to the south, and with street lights and porch lights on in the
neighborhood.

I hereby report to this group that the Guru "IS" blind, and in denial
of his blindness and blind ways

Gordon: Well I wonder what a lying little coward would have to say
about THAT? Hey Vanier, if we're on "RingWorld Stupid" why are there
so many stars in the sky?

The only stars he sees are the Hollywood types in the rags, and the
ones circling 'round his aura when a lady shopper in Whole Foods
whacks him on the head. :-)

MrM: The myriad ways in which we inform ourselves are the real
culprits here. What attracts our attention, how much emphasis we
place upon the 'hodgepodge' of perceptual material that enters into
our 'Ringworld' and how we order it and extract meaning from it are
the essenses of what is happening here. For instance, Gordon
displays material that clearly states the facts as reported by the
FBI. SPV looks at that very same material and his attention is drawn
to different directions, forming a world that is diametrically
oppposed to the one which Gordon is seeing based upon his
interpretation of the information. Two people look at the same rock,
one sees a rock, the other the roll.

The force of denial cannot be ruled out here either. I have
experienced denial in my own life. While very young, I happened upon
a motorcycle accident in which the poor rider was ripped into two
pieces. Try as I could my young mind could not see the two pieces as
a human being. Even though I knew that something terrible had
happened, I didn't know what it was I was looking at. It was
literally invisible right in front of me.

It was getting quite complicated to figure out our relationship as far
as in-laws, or ex-laws, so Denise and I have just decided to be
sisters. It works best for both of us!

So THAT'S about what you were talking. :)

Well, if you see Denise, would you tell her to tell Myraide that Murana is
in need of some stroking? I mean, he announces to the world that he has
"taken a silent oath of silence". That's like the place in Houston that has
a NEON sign proclaiming itself to be: "The Esoteric Center of Houston".

I think that maybe we should send Myraide out to "suck" the "silent" truth
out of Sera (howeber yez spelszit).
